🌸🙏 ŚRĪ BALARĀMA PŪRṆIMĀ — THE APPEARANCE DAY OF LORD BALARĀMA 🙏🌸

On this most auspicious day, we celebrate the divine appearance of Śrī Balarāma, the elder brother and first expansion of Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa.
📖 What do the śāstras tell us about Lord Balarāma?
Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam describes Balarāma as Saṅkarṣaṇa, Rāma and Balabhadra. He appeared as the son of Rohiṇī and Vasudeva and was transferred from Devakī’s womb to Rohiṇī’s womb by the divine arrangement of Yogamāyā. His name Balarāma signifies His extraordinary spiritual strength, while Rāma refers to His ability to give pleasure to the inhabitants of Gokula.
📖 Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 10.2.13
In Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta, Lord Balarāma is described as the first expansion of Kṛṣṇa. He accompanies and serves Kṛṣṇa in His eternal pastimes in innumerable ways. In the pastimes of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, Balarāma appeared as Śrī Nityānanda Prabhu, distributing the mercy of Kṛṣṇa to everyone.

🌿 Why should we come and celebrate Balarāma Pūrṇimā?
Lord Balarāma represents spiritual strength — the strength we need to overcome our weaknesses, remain steady in devotional service and continue our journey towards Kṛṣṇa.
He is also revered as the original spiritual master (Ādi-guru). By His mercy, we receive the strength and guidance needed to approach Kṛṣṇa and progress in bhakti.
So, this festival is not simply a celebration of a historical appearance. It is an opportunity to pray for Lord Balarāma’s mercy, strengthen our connection with devotional service, hear His wonderful pastimes, chant the holy names, take darśana and celebrate together in the association of devotees. 🙏💙
🌺 Let us come together as a devotee community to glorify Śrī Balarāma, hear His transcendental pastimes, offer our prayers and receive His blessings and spiritual strength.
And as we celebrate Balarāma Pūrṇimā, we also come together in the beautiful concluding celebration of Jhulan Yatra, immersing ourselves in the sweet mood of Vṛndāvana. 🌿🌸
