This post is not to criticize him but to correct this particular mindset, which is also present in many of us.
1. It gives the impression na mabubuting tao lang ang bine-bless ni Lord. God blesses both the good and the bad. See Matthew 5:45-47.
2. Too entitled. It gives the signal na kapag mabuti ka e dapat i-bless ka ni Lord. Remember: Nobody deserves God’s graces and blessings. He blesses us not because we deserve it or we’re entitled to it but because He is loving and generous. See 1 Chr 17:16.
3. It gives the impression na kapag hindi ka bine-bless nang ganun, hindi ka mabuting tao.
4. It gives the assumption na kapag nagpakabuti tayo ay makakaranas na tayo ng kasaganahan sa buhay. This thinking is actually rooted in Prosperity Gospel preaching, which is a false gospel. Many saints did not experience material abundance. Many even suffered and died suffering.
5. Not all financial “blessings” come from the Lord. At hindi yun matatawag na “blessing” in the truest sense of the word.
Again, this is not to criticize the person but the mindset, which is also present in many of us.
“Not because of who I am, but because of what You’ve done. Not because of what I’ve done, but because of who You are.”
