With a strong will and a gentle heart, the Most Reverend Francisco San Diego faithfully served as the first Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Pasig.

He was a shepherd who stood firm in faith, yet led with compassion. With courage, and unwavering dedication, he helped lay the foundation upon which the Diocese of Pasig continues to grow and flourish.

The seeds he planted through his ministry, his leadership, and his love for Godโ€™s people have become part of the enduring story of our Diocese. His legacy is not only found in the structures he helped establish, but in the faith he nurtured, the lives he touched, and the community he helped build.

Today, we remember a shepherd of strength and tendernessโ€”a man whose firm resolve was matched by a heart that cared deeply.

May the foundation he laid continue to guide generations to come.

Today, we celebrate St. Bartholomew, one of the Twelve Apostles who faithfully answered Christ's call and dedicated his life to proclaiming the Gospel.

May his example inspire us to follow the Lord with sincerity, courage, and a willing heart, becoming faithful witnesses of His love in our daily lives.

Matthew 16:13-20

Jesus went into the region of Caesarea Philippi and
he asked his disciples,
"Who do people say that the Son of Man is?"
They replied, "Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah,
still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets."
He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"
Simon Peter said in reply,
"You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
Jesus said to him in reply,
"Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah.
For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father.
And so I say to you, you are Peter,
and upon this rock I will build my church,
and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it.
I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven.
Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven;
and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."
Then he strictly ordered his disciples
to tell no one that he was the Christ.

St. Pius X devoted his life to renewing the Church and drawing people closer to Christ, especially through the Holy Eucharist. He believed that every faithful heart should have the opportunity to encounter Jesus more deeply.

May his witness inspire us to cherish the Eucharist and continue growing in faith through prayer and the Sacraments.

Matthew 15:21-28

At that time, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon.
And behold, a Canaanite woman of that district came and called out,
"Have pity on me, Lord, Son of David!
My daughter is tormented by a demon."
But Jesus did not say a word in answer to her.
Jesus' disciples came and asked him,
"Send her away, for she keeps calling out after us."
He said in reply,
"I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel."
But the woman came and did Jesus homage, saying, "Lord, help me."
He said in reply,
"It is not right to take the food of the children
and throw it to the dogs."
She said, "Please, Lord, for even the dogs eat the scraps
that fall from the table of their masters."
Then Jesus said to her in reply,
"O woman, great is your faith!
Let it be done for you as you wish."
And the woman's daughter was healed from that hour.

Mary's life is a beautiful reminder of complete trust in God's will. May her unwavering faith inspire us to say "yes" to God's call each day and journey with hope toward the promise of eternal life.
