OLCP-Becques sparks unity and funds with first 'Zumba ng Pagkakaisa’

Our Lady of Consolation Parish–BECQUES successfully conducted its first-ever “Zumba ng Pagkakaisa: Galaw na may Layunin, Tulong para sa Simbahan” as part of its Income Generating Project aimed at supporting various church development initiatives on June 13.

For a registration fee of ₱200, participants were treated to an energetic, health-boosting workout while simultaneously investing in the physical and spiritual home of their community. The atmosphere in Becques was electric as people of all ages filled the venue, proving that community development can be both impactful and incredibly fun.

Members of the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) and Parish Finance Council (PFC) expressed their appreciation for the successful conduct of the event. Encouraged by the positive response and participation, both councils look forward to organizing similar activities in the future to support the parish’s programs and projects further.

Because of the overwhelming positive response and the crucial funds raised for priority church projects, leadership is already looking to the future. Following the success of this first run, both councils confirmed they are actively studying plans to make Zumba ng Pagkakaisa a recurring event for the parish.

Our Lady of Consolation Parish joyfully celebrated the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, presided over by Rev. Fr. Marlon Belmonte. Together with the angels, acolytes, altar servers, and parishioners, we solemnly honored the real presence of Christ in the Holy Eucharist through prayer, procession, and worship.

A Walk of Faith, Grace, and Tradition

Bathed in the colors of devotion and adorned with timeless elegance, the recently concluded Santacruzan of Our Lady of Consolation Parish – Becques, Tagudin, Ilocos Sur once again brought the community together in a beautiful celebration of faith and Filipino heritage.

Ten lovely young ladies, portraying the Sagalas, gracefully traversed the route from Barangay Bitalag to the Our Lady of Consolation Parish Church in Becques, transforming the streets into a living tapestry of prayer, culture, and beauty. With every step, they carried the enduring story of faith that has been passed on from one generation to the next.

As the procession made its way toward the parish church, families, friends, and parishioners gathered in admiration, witnessing a tradition that continues to unite hearts and strengthen spiritual bonds within the community.

The Santacruzan stands as a reminder that true grace shines brightest when rooted in faith, humility, and service.
