In todayโs Gospel, Jesus looks out at the crowds and is moved with deep compassion because they are "harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd." He reminds us that while the harvest is plentiful, the laborers are fewโand then He does something incredible: He calls ordinary, flawed people like you and me, gives us His authority, and sends us out to heal, comfort, and serve. We aren't meant to just sit on the sidelines and watch the world struggle; we are called to actively carry His love into the broken places around us. As we step into this new week, letโs remember the ultimate standard of our mission: "Without cost you have received; without cost you are to give."
