Last night, the faithful of La Purisima Concepcion Parish โ€“ Tago gathered as one community in prayer, responding to the call of our Bishop, Most Rev. Raul B. Dael, and in communion with the invitation of our Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, to pray for World Peace.

The Diocesan Prayer Vigil for World Peace began with the Holy Mass, solemnly presided over by Rev. Fr. Edgar Clar, our Parish Priest. A solemn time for Eucharistic Adoration followed wherein the faithful adored the Blessed Sacrament, prayed the Holy Rosary, had a meditative Taizรฉ Prayer, and the Prayer for Peace.

In a world wounded by conflict and indifference, we stand united in faith as one family, believing that true peace begins in Christ and is made alive through our prayers and actions.

As conflicts and wars continue to unfold in different parts of the world, their effects are felt even beyond the battlefield. Though we may not be directly involved, we are not untouched โ€” rising oil prices, increasing transportation costs, and the growing cost of basic goods remind us that the suffering of one part of the world impacts us all. In these challenging times, we are called to come together and pray for peace โ€” for our world, our country, and our families.

We warmly invite all parishioners and religious groups to come together in faith and solidarity and with rosaries in our hands, join in this diocesan-wide prayer vigil for world peace.

As one family united with the love of God, let us unite our hearts and lift our prayers for peace in our world. Your presence is a prayer in itself.

In the stillness of the night, the faithful gathered to celebrate the victory of life over death. From darkness to light, we rejoiced in the Resurrection of Christ, the source of our hope and new life.

As we renewed our Baptismal promises, we were reminded of our calling to live as children of the light, leaving behind sin and embracing a life of faith.

In silence and prayer, the faithful gathered to remember the Passion of Christ through the Liturgy of the Word, the Veneration of the Cross, and the Procession of the Santo Entierro and Madre Dolorosa.

Presided by Rev. Fr. Edgar Bonette B. Clar, with Rev. Fr. Rudelito G. Doguiles as co-celebrant, this Good Friday reminds us to carry our own crosses with faith, love, and trust in God.

Through the Word, we reflected on Christโ€™s great love and sacrifice. In the veneration, we honored the Cross as a sign of that love. And in the procession, we walked with the sorrow of Mary, holding on to hope even in grief.

On this sacred journey of the Way of the Cross, we walk with Jesus in His suffering, reflecting on each step He took out of love for us. From His condemnation to His death on the cross, we are reminded of the depth of His sacrifice and the weight of the cross He willingly embraced for our salvation.

This Lenten season calls us not only to personal repentance, but to a deeper awareness of social sin. It invites us to reflect on the injustices we witness and experience, and to respondโ€”not with indifferenceโ€”but with courage, accountability, and compassion.

As we carry our own crosses, may we find strength in Christโ€™s example, hope in His mercy, and the conviction to stand for what is right. May this journey move us to become instruments of justice, truth, and loveโ€”so that no one has to suffer needlessly, and every cross may lead to new life.

Rev. Fr. Edgar B. Clar, together with Rev. Fr. Rudelito G. Doguiles, Sch.P., presided over the Eucharistic Celebration at La Purisima Concepcion Parish-Tago in the solemn observance of Maundy Thursday. The celebration marked the beginning of the Sacred Triduum, inviting the faithful to reflect deeply on Christโ€™s love and sacrifice.

The Holy Mass commemorates the institution of the Holy Eucharist and the Sacrament of Priesthood, reminding the faithful of Jesusโ€™ self-giving love and humble service.
