COMING HOLY DAYS OF OBLIGATION

The Church calls us to contemplate the mystery of salvation through Jesus Christ who comes among us, and Mary, the Theotokos—the God-bearer—who received Him in faith.

December 25 – The Nativity of the Lord
On Christmas Day, we celebrate the wondrous truth that the Word became flesh. Jesus comes to dwell with us in humility and love. In the Holy Eucharist, the same Lord born in Bethlehem continues to come to us, inviting us to receive Him with faith and devotion.

January 1 – Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God
Mary is honored as Theotokos, for she truly received and bore God Himself. Her fiat made room for Christ to enter the world. As our Mother, she teaches us how to receive Jesus—not only into our arms, but into our hearts and lives.

By celebrating these Holy Days of Obligation, we proclaim Christ who comes to save, and we learn from Mary how to receive Him worthily.

HEADS UP! The Diocesan Commission for Liturgical Affairs will be spearheading the 1st Diocesan Altar Servers’ Gathering on June 21, 2025, at San Nicolas de Tolentino New Cathedral.

This assembly aims to foster connection among the youth serving our Almighty Father, to direct their minds towards Him, and to encourage them to become the bearers of light in this Jubilee Year 2025 as Pilgrims of Hope.

No registration fee is required. Delegates from outside San Nicolas de Tolentino Vicariate must be in Grade 8 or above.

What to bring:
1. Sotana and surplice or the current liturgical vestments used in serving your respective parishes
2. Tumbler
3. Snacks (morning and afternoon)
4. Lunch (individual/ by parish)
5. 2 Extra Shirts
