JUNE 13, 2026 | Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Today, the Church celebrates the Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, a special day that invites us to contemplate the interior life of the Blessed Virgin Mary and her unwavering love for God. The Immaculate Heart of Mary symbolizes her purity, humility, faith, obedience, and complete trust in the Lord. It reminds us that Mary's heart was entirely centered on God and perfectly united with the mission of her Son, Jesus Christ.

Throughout the Gospels, we see Mary as a woman who listened attentively to God's voice and responded with a wholehearted "yes." From the Annunciation to the foot of the Cross, she remained faithful despite uncertainty, suffering, and sorrow. Saint Luke tells us that Mary "kept all these things, pondering them in her heart" (Luke 2:19). Her heart became a sacred dwelling place where God's Word was treasured, reflected upon, and lived out.

The Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of Mary follows the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, reminding us of the profound union between the Hearts of Jesus and Mary. While the Sacred Heart reveals Christ's infinite love for humanity, the Immaculate Heart reflects the perfect human response to that divine love. Mary's heart teaches us how to receive God's grace, trust His plans, and remain faithful even during life's most difficult moments.

In a world often marked by noise, division, and distractions, Mary's heart invites us to cultivate silence, prayer, and deeper intimacy with God. She encourages us to surrender our fears, hopes, and dreams to the Lord and to trust that His will is always for our good. Through her maternal intercession, she continues to guide the faithful closer to Jesus, leading us on the path of holiness and discipleship.

As we honor the Immaculate Heart of Mary today, let us entrust ourselves, our families, our communities, and our future to her loving care. May her example inspire us to live lives of faith, purity, compassion, and obedience to God's will. And may her Immaculate Heart help us grow in love for Christ, so that our own hearts may become reflections of His mercy and grace.

O Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us and lead us always to Jesus.

HOMILY | Memorial of Mary, Mother of the Church
Gospel: John 19:25–34

Today we celebrate the Memorial of Mary, Mother of the Church. The title itself is beautiful. Mary is not only the Mother of Jesus. The Lord Himself gave her to us as our Mother.

In today’s Gospel, we are brought to Calvary. Jesus is hanging on the Cross. He is suffering. He is breathing His last. And among those who remained there was Mary. Many had left. Many became afraid. But Mary stayed.

Then Jesus looked at His Mother and at the beloved disciple and said: “Woman, behold your son… Behold your mother.”

At first glance, it may seem that Jesus was simply making arrangements for Mary before He died. But the Church understands these words more deeply. Jesus was not only entrusting Mary to John. Jesus was entrusting Mary to every disciple. John represents all of us.

And notice what happens next. The Gospel says: “And from that hour the disciple took her into his home” (John 19:27). That line is very important. Jesus did not only say, “Behold your mother.” The disciple also welcomed Mary into his home.

This tells us something beautiful: Jesus desires that every disciple make room for Mary in his life and in his home. Not because Mary replaces Jesus. But because Mary always brings us closer to Jesus.

To welcome Mary into our homes means more than placing a statue in the living room. It means allowing her example to shape our family life.

A home that welcomes Mary becomes a home where people pray together. A home that welcomes Mary becomes gentler in speech and quicker to forgive. A home that welcomes Mary learns to remain faithful even in difficult times.

Many of us have images of Our Lady in our homes—but perhaps the question today is: Does Mary only have a place on our wall, or does she also have a place in our hearts?

1. A mother stays.

Mary did not run away from the Cross. She stayed even when she did not fully understand.

Many people remain faithful when life is easy, but become distant from God when suffering comes.

Mary teaches us: love remains.

Some parents continue sacrificing for children who do not always appreciate them. Some spouses remain faithful despite difficulties. Some quietly carry sickness, disappointments, or loneliness.

Mary reminds us: staying can also be an act of love.

2. A mother gathers.

At the foot of the Cross, Jesus begins forming a new family.

The Church is not built only by structures or programs. The Church becomes alive when people care for one another.

Today many people are connected online but feel alone inside. Many houses are complete, but homes are broken.

Mary continues gathering us back to Jesus and to one another.

Perhaps one of the greatest services we can offer is simple: be people who unite rather than divide, accompany rather than judge.

3. A mother leads us to Christ.

Mary never keeps attention for herself. Her whole life says: “Do whatever He tells you” (John 2:5).

True devotion to Mary always leads us to Jesus. If after praying the Rosary we become kinder, more forgiving, more faithful—then Mary is truly guiding us.

My dear brothers and sisters,

Today, let us ask ourselves: Have I welcomed Mary into my home?

Not only into my house, but into my decisions, my family life, my struggles, and my journey of faith.

Because Jesus Himself gave us His Mother. And a mother never abandons her children.

Mary, Mother of the Church, pray for us. Amen.

THE SECOND SEASON OF ORDINARY TIME BEGINS!
(MAY 25,2026—NOV 28, 2026)

After the great celebration of Pentecost Sunday, the Church now joyfully enters the Second Season of Ordinary Time—a sacred journey that continues until the beginning of Advent.

This new season begins on Monday, May 25, 2026, reminding us that the life of faith does not end in celebration, but continues in mission, growth, and daily discipleship.

Ordinary Time is not “ordinary” in the sense of being unimportant. It is a season of spiritual growth—like green pastures where the soul is nurtured, strengthened, and formed by the teachings of Christ. In this time, we walk with Jesus through His public ministry: His words of truth, His miracles of healing, His compassion for the poor, and His call to holiness.

After Pentecost, we are sent forth by the Holy Spirit. The fire of God that descended upon the Church is now meant to burn within us—guiding our decisions, renewing our hearts, and empowering us to live as faithful witnesses in the world.

This is a season of consistency in prayer, faithfulness in small things, patience in trials, and growth in love. God meets us not only in great moments, but in the quiet rhythm of everyday life.

So as Ordinary Time begins again, may we not grow spiritually idle, but spiritually alive—rooted in Christ and open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Walk faithfully.
Grow steadily.
Love deeply.
Live daily with God.

24/05/2026

Today is the Solemnity of Pentecost. We have all been baptized in one Spirit to form one body. God has revealed the Spirit to each person for the common good. Let us resolve to proclaim the Good News to the world, strengthened by the gifts of the Spirit each of us has received.

Happy Birthday, One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church!

Today we rejoice not simply in a tradition, but in a living mystery—the birth of the Church at Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles like a rushing wind and tongues of fire. From that moment, fear was transformed into courage, confusion into mission, and silence into proclamation. The Church was no longer locked behind closed doors; it was sent forth into the world.

To call this the “birthday of the Church” is to recognize that the Church is not merely an institution, but a Spirit-filled body of believers united in Christ. The “One” Church speaks of unity amidst diversity—many nations, languages, and cultures, yet one faith and one baptism. The “Holy” Church is not holy because of human perfection, but because it is continually sanctified by God’s grace. The “Catholic” Church is universal, embracing all peoples and all corners of the world. The “Apostolic” Church stands firm on the foundation of the apostles, faithfully passing on the teaching and mission of Christ.

Pentecost reminds us that the Church is always being renewed. The same Spirit who empowered the first disciples continues to breathe life into every generation—calling the fearful to courage, the weary to hope, and the divided to communion. It is a reminder that faith is not meant to remain inside churches alone, but to be lived in families, communities, and the world.

So as we say, “Happy Birthday, One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church,” we are also praying: Come, Holy Spirit, renew Your Church once more. Ignite our hearts with love, strengthen our faith, and send us forth as witnesses of Christ’s living presence in the world today.
