🌹✨ For the first time in the history of our Chaplaincy, we joyfully celebrate the Santacruzan, a cherished religious tradition that honors the discovery of the Holy Cross by Reyna Elena and reminds us that true beauty is reflected not only in gowns and garments, but more importantly in faith and devotion to God. ✨🌹

On May 29, 2026, a Holy Mass was celebrated in honor of the Culmination of the Flores de Mayo at St. Vincent Ferrer Chaplaincy. Before the Holy Mass started, the different Reynas of the Santacruzan were introduced, with special emphasis on Reyna Elena and the young boy representing Constantine.

As they participated in this Santacruzan, they don’t only wear crowns of beauty but also crowns of Christian values. Reyna Elena reminds us of important Christian virtues such as humility, honesty, and integrity.

Winning the crown of Reyna Elena through honesty and integrity should always be accompanied by humility. However, winning it through other means may lead to pride and boastfulness.

Santacruzan also reminds us of the words:

“We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You, because by Your Holy Cross, You have redeemed the world.”

On behalf of the St. Vincent Ferrer Chaplaincy, under the leadership of our Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Raul Ciño, together with Bro. Darwin, Confraternity of our Lady of Lourdes, The Angels, MIST Sisters, and everyone who contributed to the success of our Santacruzan, daghang kaayong salamat kaninyong tanan!

As we conclude this first Santacruzan in our Chaplaincy, may its true message remain in our hearts—that beyond the gowns, flowers, and celebrations lies the call to carry our own crosses with faith and to follow Christ with humility. This may be our first Santacruzan, but it is a meaningful step in the growing life and faith of our community.

To God be the glory. 🙏

HISTORY IN THE MAKING🙏

From vision to foundation, the St. Vincent Ferrer Bamboo Church is slowly becoming a reality through unity and the generosity of many. ⛪️

On May 11, 2026, at around 4:00pm onwards, a Vicariate meeting for all the priest under the Diocese of Tagbilaran was held for the first time at the site where the St. Vincent Ferrer Bamboo Church will soon rise.

The words of the Scripture from Psalm 127:1 remind us, " Unless the Lord builds the house, in vain do its builders labor. Unless the Lord guards the city, in vain does the guard stay awake"

One of the most important agenda items of the Vicariate meeting was how each parish under the Diocese of Tagbilaran could extend assistance to the ongoing construction of the St. Vincent Ferrer Bamboo Church- truly one of a kind in the province of Bohol and even in the entire Philippines. It is hoped, that once the church is fully completed, each parish will share a sense of ownership in this meaningful endeavor.

On behalf of the St. Vincent Ferrer Chaplaincy, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Rev. Fr. Raul Ciño, our Chaplain, who led the realization of this event, Rev. Fr. Jingboy S**o Jr, our Diocesan Administrator, all the Priests who attended, Architect Erven Digal, The United Bohol Bamboo Advocates Inc., Bro. Darwin Cutin, Bro. Charlie Gibaliga, the Food Committee, Physical Arrangement Committee, with special thanks to Ms. Irene Bangalao for providing the documentary equipments; and to all those behind the scenes who diligently contributed to the success of this event.

With every prayer, effort, and helping hand, this mission continues to move forward — “Malayo pa, pero malayo na.” 🙏🤍🎍

THE HOLY WEEK
EASTER SUNDAY | PASKO SA PAGKABANHAW

Resurrection Sunday reminds us of the victory of life over death, hope over despair, and the promise of eternal life. It also marks the end of the Lenten Season for fasting and penitence.

The St. Vincent Ferrer Chaplaincy began this joyful day with an Easter Egg Hunting activity held at St. Vincent Ferrer Bamboo Church site for children aged 12 years old and below. This was followed by a Holy Mass at 8:00 AM, presided over by Rev. Fr. Raul Ciño, with the assistance of Bro. Darwin Cutin.

Afterwards, the Chaplaincy Officials, Chaplaincy Youth Ministry, Altar Servers, St. Vincent Mix Choir, all the servers and St. Vincent Ferrer Chaplaincy family, gathered together to celebrate the success of the first ever Holy Week celebration of Cabawan and Easter.

On behalf of the Chaplaincy, ipaabot namo ang among mainitong pagpasalamat nila Bro Darwin ug saCYMs, for leading the enjoyable and fun Egg Hunting activity. We also extend our sincere gratitude to our Chaplain Fr. Raul and to all who helped make our First Holy Week celebration a success.

THE HOLY WEEK
BLACK SATURDAY | SABADO DE GLORIA
( April 4, 2026)

This day represents the time when Jesus lay in the tomb and leads us to the joyful celebration of the Easter Vigil.

The St. Vincent Ferrer Chaplaincy conducted it's Easter Vigil Mass, which consisted of 4 main parts:
First, Service of Light, which began outside in darkness with the blessings of the new fire and the lighting of the Paschal Candle, symbolizing the light of Christ rising from the dead.

Second, the Liturgy of the Word, where the chaplaincy reflected on the history of salvation through 7 Old Testament readings and 2 New Testament readings.

Third, the Liturgy of Baptism, during which the priest blessed the baptismal water, led the Litany of the Saints, and guided the Renewal of Baptismal Vows.

Fourth, the Liturgy of the Eucharist, filled with hymns and alleluias, where the chaplaincy lights were turned on and the faithful celebrated the Holy Communion.

This sacred service serves as a dramatic journey from darkness to light and death to new life.

At 10:00 in the evening, gihimo dayon ang Sugat o Hugo's, dramatizing the meeting of the Risen Christ with the Blessed Virgin Mary.

With grateful hearts, we thank all the angel participants, Ms. Mary Rose Jumarito, Sir Adelo Caberte, Mr. Justine Barrete, COLL, CYM, Divine Mercy, Brgy. Captain Sergio Bangalao, Brgy. ALERTs, Mr. Charlie Gibaliga, MIST Sisters, Brod. Darwin Cutin, ug Ang atong pinalanggang Chaplain Fr. Raul Ciño.
