The Diocesan Social Action Commission of Tagbilaran participated in the 42nd National Social Action General Assembly (NASAGA) 2026, held on February 2–6, 2026, at the Mother of Grace Convention Center in Tagaytay City.
Centered on the theme “Sulong-Padayon: Pag-asa, Pananagutan, Pagbabago,” the national gathering brought together diocesan social action directors, workers, and volunteers from across the country to reflect on the Church’s continuing mission of social transformation. The assembly served as a venue for dialogue, shared discernment, and collaboration in responding to present social challenges, rooted in faith and guided by the call to hope, responsibility, and meaningful change.
Representing the Diocese of Tagbilaran were Rev. Fr. Raindy Alpuerto, who is in charge of Laudato Si’, the environmental ministry under the commission, together with volunteer workers Rhenan Reformina and Jessica Cuaresma. The delegation actively participated in plenary sessions and discussions that emphasized social responsibility, care for creation, and solidarity with the poor and vulnerable.
The 42nd NASAGA also served as a space for renewal and encouragement, affirming that social action remains an essential expression of the Church’s pastoral mission. Strengthened by the spirit of sulong-padayon, the delegates return to the Diocese of Tagbilaran inspired to continue advancing programs and initiatives that embody hope, accountability, and transformative action in their communities.
