✊WALKING TOGETHER IN FAITH, HOPE, AND CHRISTIAN UNITY✊

"Make every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace." — Ephesians 4:3

The Ecumenical Council of Churches in Bohol (ECCB) successfully convened its meeting on August 4, 2026, at the United Methodist Church (UMC), Sagbayan Sur, Sagbayan, Bohol, gathering church leaders and delegates in the spirit of prayer, fellowship, and our shared mission in Christ.

The gathering began with a meaningful Opening Worship Service led by Pstr. Lyster Patigdas (UMC), reminding us that every plan and ministry must first be grounded in worship and guided by the Holy Spirit.

The Meeting Proper was then presided over by the ECCB Chairperson, Rev'd Fr. Jesus Estampa, where representatives from the participating churches—IFI (Iglesia Filipina Independiente), UCCP (United Church of Christ in the Philippines), and UMC (United Methodist Church) prayerfully discussed and discerned important matters for the continued growth and strengthening of our ecumenical fellowship.

Among the significant agenda were the confirmation of ECCB officers, sharing of church ministries and backgrounds, the creation of standing committees, the drafting of the ECCB Constitution and By-Laws, financial stewardship, and the formulation of the 2026–2027 Calendar of Activities, which includes Ecumenical Worship Services, the Concordat Celebration, the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, Youth Fellowship, Community Outreach and Feeding Programs, Disaster Response Ministry, Environmental Stewardship Activities, and Leadership Orientation.

Though we come from different church traditions, we are united by one Lord, one faith, and one mission to proclaim the Gospel, promote justice and peace, and faithfully serve our communities. Our diversity is not a barrier but a beautiful witness to the reconciling love of Christ, who calls His Church to walk together in humility, compassion, and hope.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the congregation of the United Methodist Church (UMC), Sagbayan Sur, Sagbayan, Bohol, for your generous hospitality and gracious welcome. Your kindness, fellowship, and loving service truly reflected the love of Christ and strengthened the bonds of our ecumenical family. May God richly bless your congregation and continue to use your church as an instrument of unity, peace, and faithful service.

As we move forward together, may the Lord continue to guide the Ecumenical Council of Churches in Bohol in building stronger relationships among our churches and in becoming a living witness of Christ's prayer:

"That they may all be one... so that the world may believe." (John 17:21)

OPISYAL NGA PAHAYAG
Ecumenical Council of Churches in Bohol (ECCB)

IKA-40 NGA ANIBERSARYO SA EDSA PEOPLE POWER REVOLUTION

1. Paghinumdom sa espiritu sa EDSA, pinaagi sa pagbarog alang sa hustisya, kalinaw, ug dignidad sa tawo;

2.Pagpanalipod sa atong kalikupan isip Balaang gasa alang sa karon ug umaabot nga henerasyon;

3.Pagdasig sa respeto ug rekonsilasyon tali sa lain-laing denominasyon, ug paglikay sa pag-atake nga nagaguba sa pagkahiusa;

Malipayong Adlawng Natawhan kanimo Igsoong Japhet!

“THERE IS ONE BODY AND ONE SPIRIT, JUST AS YOU WERE CALLED TO THE ONE HOPE OF YOUR CALLING” (EPHESIANS 4:4).

In the spirit of the WEEK OF PRAYER FOR CHRISTIAN UNITY 2026, the Ecumenical Council of Churches in Bohol (ECCB) — IFI, UCCP, ACC, and UMC under the National Council of Churches in the Philippines (NCCP) — joyfully gathered today, February 9, 2026, not as separate traditions, but as one body in Christ, called by one Spirit and united in one hope.

Hosted with generous hospitality by the Apostolic Catholic Church at Brgy. Cuya, Ubay, Bohol, this gathering became a sacred space of prayer, dialogue, discernment, and renewed commitment to our shared ecumenical journey.

We were deeply enriched by the input of Rev’d. Irma Balaba (UCCP), who offered a timely reflection on the current national situation and the vital role of the ecumenical movement. She emphasized that authentic ecumenism must always be grounded in its concrete context; listening to the cries of the people, engaging the realities of society, and responding faithfully and prophetically as churches called to unity, justice, and peace.

This moment of grace also marked the election of the new set of ECCB Officers, entrusted with the shared mission of nurturing unity, cooperation, and faithful witness among our churches.
With grateful hearts, we extend our sincere thanksgiving to our host church, to all ECCB member churches, and to the previous ECCB administration officers, whose faithful leadership and service laid a strong foundation for the continuing work of Christian unity in Bohol.

May the Spirit who gathered us today continue to bind us together in love, strengthen our common witness, and lead us forward as churches journeying together in faith, hope, and unity.
