๐๐ข๐ ๐๐๐ฌ ๐ฅ๐๐๐๐๐๐ง๐๐ข๐ก | On the Feast of St. Augustine, a sacred celebration was held on August 28, 2025, at St. Isidore the Farmer Parish Church in Trinidad, Bohol, where Rev. Fr. Dominador Amoncio delivered a moving homily on the longing of the human heart and the peace found in God.
In his homily, he said:
After chasing anything that the world could offer, St. Augustine realized that inner peace doesn't come from the worldโit comes from resting in the heart of God.
We have to recognize that restlessness is part of the human experience, and all of us carry this kind of experience:
a hunger for meaning, a hunger for love, a hunger for fulfillment.
Some people try to satisfy that restlessness with success or status. Some look for it in pleasure or popularity. Others chase after position or entertainment, or even enter into any kind of vice just to satisfy themselvesโbut they end up feeling unsatisfied.
Why is that? Because we are made for something greater. We are made for God. And the only one who can satisfy our hearts is the One who made them.
Sometimes, the world will try to tell you that peace comes from success, from relationships, or from having expensive gadgets. But the truth is, it comes only from resting in the One who made us.
