6TH SUNDAY OF EASTER & MOTHER’S DAY CELEBRATION
“Love one another as I have loved you.” — John 15:12
In the spirit of the 6th Sunday of Easter and our celebration of Mother’s Day, the IFI Cathedral of Tagbilaran warmly welcomes Sis. Angel Cagas, newly graduated seminarian from Saint Paul’s Theological Seminary, together with Sis. Marielle Carias, as entrusted by The Right Rev’d Warner C. Bulacan while awaiting their new mission appointments this coming June 1, 2026.
The Canon of the Cathedral, The Very Rev’d Jesus Estampa, has likewise been entrusted by the Ordinary to guide, accompany, and care for the two graduates during this transitional period of preparation for their forthcoming ministerial assignments, a manifestation of the Church’s pastoral commitment in nurturing newly formed workers in the vineyard of Christ.
Your presence among us is a living witness that the Church continues to raise servants formed in faith, humility, and love, ready to journey with God’s people in mission and ministry.
As reflected by Sis. Angel Cagas:
“The Importance of Mother’s Day Celebration is not all about how many flowers and cakes/chocolates we give to them, but it is all about how to live the love from our mothers.”
Indeed, mothers remain among God’s greatest instruments of grace and unconditional love. Through their sacrifices, prayers, and faithful presence, we encounter the very compassion of Christ.
Three Sacred Reflections this Mother’s Day:
• A mother leads us to know God.
• A mother teaches us to endure suffering with love.
• A mother reflects God’s abiding presence.
Today, we honor all mothers, grandmothers, spiritual mothers, and women whose lives continue to nurture families, communities, and the Church.
Welcome, Sis. Angel and Sis. Marielle, to the IFI Cathedral of Tagbilaran.
May your journey in ministry continue to inspire God’s people toward faithful service and abundant life.
