HAPPENING NOW | Parish Updates

The Ubujan parishioners joyfully gathered at the church to celebrate the Feast of the Santo Niño, filling the day with faith, music, and vibrant energy. The celebration became even more meaningful as the dance was led by our parish priest, Fr. Leonel Grado, inspiring everyone to move with joy and devotion. With every step and rhythm, devotees offered their dance as a prayer of thanksgiving, expressing their deep love and unwavering faith in Sto. Niño. More than a celebration, it was a beautiful moment of unity, tradition, and shared joy as the community came together to honor the Child Jesus.

On the evening of December 31, the faithful of the Parish of San Antonio de Padua gathered in sacred assembly for the solemn celebration of the Holy Eucharist. In this act of worship, the community offered praise and thanksgiving to God for the abundant graces of the year now completed, and with trust and humility, commended the coming year to His divine mercy and providence. United at the altar, the parish renewed its hope in Christ, the Lord of time and history, seeking His guidance and blessing in the year ahead.

Maayong Bag-ong Tuig kaninyong tanan!

Santa Cecilia Choir Festival 2025

The evening air of San Antonio de Padua Parish was filled with excitement as parishioners and guests gathered for the much-anticipated 2025 Santa Cecilia Choir Festival, an annual celebration honoring the patron saint of music. This year’s event featured eight talented choir groups, each representing various ministries and communities within the parish. The festival became not only a showcase of vocal talent but also a joyful expression of unity, faith, and creativity.

The program began with an invocation and welcome remarks from the parish pastoral chairperson, who highlighted the significance of music in strengthening communal worship. As the lights dimmed and the first choir took the stage, the spirit of celebration came alive. Each group was required to prepare one religious song and one pop song, giving the festival a delightful blend of devotion and modern musical flair.

Throughout the evening, the audience was captivated by the diversity of performances. Religious songs filled the church grounds with solemnity and reverence—ranging from traditional hymns to contemporary praise music. These heartfelt renditions reminded everyone of the deep connection between music and worship. In contrast, the pop song segments brought a lively and festive atmosphere. Many choirs added dance steps, dramatic interpretations, and creative arrangements that showcased their versatility and youthful energy.

One of the highlights of the event was the impressive display of props and costumes. Each choir showcased unique concepts that reflected the message of their chosen songs. The care and effort put into the visual presentation made each performance memorable and visually engaging.

As the last group delivered their final note, the venue erupted in applause, acknowledging the dedication and hard work of all participants. Though it was not a competition, the event fostered friendly camaraderie and mutual appreciation among the choirs. The evening concluded with a community singing of a well-loved hymn, symbolizing harmony and shared faith.

The Santa Cecilia Choir Festival succeeded in bringing together voices, talents, and hearts in a celebration of music and gratitude. It strengthened parish bonds and inspired everyone present to continue using their gifts in service to God and the community. With the success of this year’s festival, the parish looks forward to an even more vibrant and spirit-filled celebration in the years to come.
