From seeds once sown in uncertainty, we now rise, tested, refined, and made whole. The name itself bears witness. Though cut down, we flourish anew. Through long nights of study, quiet sacrifices, and moments that demanded courage, we have grown not only in knowledge, but in character.

This journey was not walked alone. Behind every step forward stood guiding hands. Teachers who formed our minds, families who strengthened our resolve, and friends who walked beside us when the road grew steep. What we celebrate today is not merely an ending, but the fruit of faith, discipline, and perseverance.

𝐇𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐦𝐮𝐬 𝐄𝐩𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐩𝐮𝐦 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐮𝐦!

A wave of joy swept across the Diocese of Tagbilaran as the faithful received the long-awaited announcement from His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, appointing Rev. Fr. Gerardo F. S**o, Jr. as the 8th Bishop of Tagbilaran. He succeeds Most Rev. Alberto S. Uy, D.D., who now serves as the newly installed Archbishop of Cebu.
The proclamation was made at 7:00 PM during the celebration of the Solemnity of the Annunciation of Mary held at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary Chapel. The announcement was formally delivered by Rev. Fr. Heraldin Laniba, Chancellor of the Diocese, before a gathered community of clergy, seminarians, and guests.
Those present included Most Rev. Alberto S. Uy, as well as the seminary formators led by Rev. Fr. Ronaldo Amora, MA, High School Rector, and Rev. Msgr. Efren Bongay, SThL-MA, College Rector. After the announcement, the community continued the celebration with a sumptuous dinner at the seminary refectory, joined by members of the diocesan clergy.
The evening was marked not only by warm fellowship but also by a shared spirit of thanksgiving as the diocese welcomes its new sheperd.

The IHMS family joins the Diocese of Talibon in celebrating the appointment of Fr. Jose Conrado Estafia, SThL, MA, MA, MA, Ph.D., as the new National Director of Stella Maris–Philippines.

Appointed by the CBCP on March 24, Fr. D**g brings both deep academic wisdom and pastoral experience to this nationwide ministry. We are honored to witness this new chapter in your service to the Church.

With great joy and thanksgiving, the Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary community joins the Diocese of Tagbilaran in welcoming our new shepherd, Most Rev. Gerardo S**o Jr. Appointed by Pope Leo XIV, Bishop-elect S**o is a proud alumnus of IHMS, where he began his journey in philosophy before years of dedicated service as a priest, missionary, and most recently, Diocesan Administrator. We are honored to see a brother from these halls chosen to lead us as the eighth Bishop of Tagbilaran.

May the Immaculate Heart of Mary guide his heart as he takes on this sacred mantle.
