"The End of Self"

There are seasons in life when uncertainty seems to gather at every corner. We begin to wonder whether there will still be hope for tomorrow: bread upon the table, a few coins in our pocket, an office to which we can return, a relationship that seems to flicker, or a future that feels increasingly restrained by lost time and advancing age.

And strangely enough, we sometimes arrive at the end of the road precisely when we think we have finally understood so much—when we have learned, accomplished, endured, and even proven ourselves. Yet, after all that understanding and striving, we find ourselves confronted by an unsettling emptiness.

Perhaps this is where God intends to meet us.

There are moments when God empties our cup until we discover that, beneath everything we thought we needed, He is all that remains. Perhaps we are meant to encounter the end of ourselves from time to time—to reach that place where our strength, understanding, plans, and control can take us no further. It is there that we are reminded of a difficult but liberating truth: not everything will submit to us.

Ultimately, this life is not about us.

And, oh, what joy there is in realizing that.

Then comes perhaps the most dreadful question of all: Lord, am I still Yours?

To the perplexed believer who finds himself asking this, rest here: the longing to belong to Christ and the grief we feel over our sin are themselves signs of a heart that has been awakened to Him. The soul that seeks Him does so because He has first sought the soul. Even our hunger for God is evidence of His gracious work within us.

It is not our task to control everything, nor is it our burden to understand everything. Faith does not require us to possess all the answers before we surrender. Our calling is simply to place what we cannot comprehend upon the altar of faith and entrust it to the tender Keeper of our souls.

So surrender your worries in the same way you surrendered your life to Him.

The God who saved you is not indifferent to what troubles your heart. The One who carried you from death to life will not abandon you in the uncertainties that remain.

Perhaps the end of self is not the end of hope.

Perhaps it is the place where we finally discover that our hope was never meant to rest in ourselves at all.

Philippians 1:6 — “He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion.”

Last Sunday reminded us of the beautiful truth that Jesus Christ is the bridge between us and God. 💛

Si Jesus ang tanging daan pabalik sa ama. Through His love, sacrifice, and grace, we are given the opportunity to have a restored relationship with God. Accepting Jesus means trusting Him, following Him, and recognizing Him as the only way to truly be reconciled with our Creator.

Through our small group discussion, napaalala sa amin that faith is not just about knowing who Jesus is, ito ay ang pagtanggap sakanya at hayaan siya na mamuno sa ating buhay papalapit kay God. 🙏

Have you accepted Jesus as your way to the Father?

Come join us next Sunday! We’d love to grow in faith with you. 👋

Prisoner of the past? 🫂

May mga chapters talaga ng buhay na hindi natin pinili—mistakes, regrets, heartbreaks, missed opportunities, moments we wish we could undo. And sometimes, kahit tapos na, dala pa rin natin hanggang ngayon.

But remember: you are a story shaped by yesterday, but you were never meant to live on the same page forever.

Your past can explain parts of who you are today, but it doesn’t have to dictate who you become tomorrow. Hindi mo kailangang paulit-ulit na mabuhay sa chapter na tapos na.

You can learn from it. You can grieve it. You can acknowledge what it did to you. But eventually, you have to let God write what comes next.

So if you're carrying something from your past today, bring it back to Him. You don't have to figure out your next chapter alone.

Who knows? Maybe you can tell someone and find each other on the common ground.

The God who was with you in your yesterday is still the God who holds your tomorrow.

“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead.”
— Philippians 3:13

So, what keeps holding you back and how can we pray for you today? 🤗

Sa mga nagpapakatatag.
Sa mga pinipili pa ring lumaban.
At sa mga umaasa pa—hindi ka lugi sa Panginoon. 🤍

He hasn’t forgotten you. Nakita Niya. Narinig Niya. At kahit parang ang tagal, He is still working.

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength...” — Isaiah 40:31

Kapit lang. Hindi sayang ang paghihintay kapag ang Diyos ang hinihintay mo. 🙏

𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗼𝗻! 📖🙌

Last July 26, we gathered at the Bamboo Chapel to reflect on the 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲. It was so beautiful to see our youth eager to learn and ready na gawing gabay ang Salita ng Diyos sa bawat desisyon sa buhay.

Thank you so much sa lahat ng naki-join, nagdala ng kaibigan, at nagbahagi ng kanilang mga kwento at testimonies. Truly, when we seek God's Word, we find the strength and wisdom we need.

Swipe left to see some of our favorite moments from that day! 📸✨
