๐๐ข๐ข๐ | Over 500 lay leaders, business owners, professionals, entreprenuers, and church members from across the East Visayan Conference (EVC) gathered at HFL Resort in San Miguel, Leyte, from May 15โ17, 2026, for the EVC-WIDE Adventist-laymenโs Services & Industries (ASI) and Adventist Professionals (AdPro) Summit 2026.
Organized by the EVC ASI and AdPro, the summit carried the theme โBusinessmen and Professionals for Mission: Sharing Christ in the Marketplace and Workplace.โ The event aimed to encourage professionals and business people to use their work and influence in advancing Godโs mission.
Participants joined lectures, fellowship activities, and discussions focused on workplace evangelism, stewardship in business, and community outreach through professional networks.
One of the highlights of the event was the message delivered by Engr. Meljune Orillosa, President-Elect of SSD-ASI. He encouraged participants to entrust their plans to God and reminded them that mission work is accomplished through unity and cooperation.
Referring to the story of the paralytic man brought to Jesus by four friends, Orillosa emphasized that โthe mission of the church and the mission of ASI is not a one-man show,โ but a united effort driven by one vision.
โ...Kung atong tan-awon ang sugilanon sa upat ka mga higala... it is not a one-man show in the story. The mission of the church and the mission of ASI is not a one-man show... It was four men united in one vision.โ he shared.
He also challenged attendees with the question, โWhose roof are you willing to break through to bring someone to Jesus?โ a reminder that friends, families, colleagues, and co-workers are also mission fields.
Another inspiring message during the summit came from Tenten E. Duarte, President-Elect of EVC AdPro, who reminded participants that, โTime for God is never wasted. Let us be grounded in the Bible, focused on the mission, and say, โIโll do whatever it takes to win souls for Christ.โโ
His statement encouraged attendees to remain faithful in their spiritual life while using their professions, influence, and daily interactions as channels for mission. The message emphasized that true success is not measured only by achievements in business or career, but by faithfulness in serving God and leading others closer to Christ.
The summit also featured different testimonies from selected attendees, ASI and AdPro leaders across the conference, sharing experiences of faith and mission in their respective professions that helps and inspired participants to be the sermon in their workplace.
The event concluded with a commitment prayer led by Ptr. Samuel Salloman, President of the East Visayan Conference, dedicating the plans and ministries of the participants to Godโs service.
This event reminded participants that mission is not limited to the pulpit or the church building. In every office, business, classroom, hospital, and workplace, God calls His people to become instruments of service and witness. They can use their influence to lead others closer to Christ until Jesus comes.
