HONORING GOD'S GIFT OF LIFE
In today’s fast-paced and often demanding world, many young people silently struggle with stress, emotional overwhelm, identity concerns, and unmet needs. These challenges, when unaddressed, may affect not only their mental health but also their relationships, decision-making, and overall sense of purpose.
At the same time, mental health remains a sensitive and sometimes misunderstood topic within communities.
In response to the growing need to create safe, inclusive, and compassionate environments where young people can better understand their inner experiences without fear of judgment, the Catholic Women’s League (CWL) of St. Roch the Healer Parish spearheaded the forum 'Understanding Mental Health and Living Well in Faith: Feel, Heal, and Grow with God' on May 23 at St. Roch the Healer Parish in Manlurip, San Jose, Tacloban City.
The forum, facilitated by Life Coach Kay Katherine Zabala, integrated psychological insights with Catholic faith formation, grounded in the belief that caring for one’s mental and emotional well-being is an essential part of honoring God’s gift of life.
Here are snapshots from the forum, which brought together around 90 young people from different parishes.
