Thanksgiving Celebration โ€” to God be all the glory!

Thank You, Lord, for all that You have done in the life of the church; for the grace of having one another; and most of all, for the indescribable gift we have in Jesus.

All of our hearts speak of thanksgivingโ€” a thanksgiving that springs forth from the grace and mercy of God, through our Savior, Jesus Christ.

For the past months, the Lord has guided our church through seasons of mourning and seasons of rejoicing. We are reminded again and again that the steadfast love of the Lord has not ceased; His mercies have not come to an end, but have been new every morning. Great has been His faithfulness!

Yesterdayโ€™s ๐…๐š๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐ƒ๐š๐ฒ was a beautiful reminder that the same God who carries us through hardships also blesses us with joyful times of fellowship, that Christ might be magnified and our allโ€”in all seasons of life!

To God be the glory for the gift of family in Christ and for the sweet foretaste of eternal fellowship that we share in Him!

For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. โ€” Galatians 5:13

Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, โ€œYou shall be holy, for I am holy.โ€ โ€” 1 Peter 1:13-16

Our hope is in the holy and merciful God who, by His grace, makes us holy and fills us with hope. May this Lordโ€™s Day refresh your soul, dear brethren, as a foretaste of the eternal rest we have in Christ!

Godโ€™s power must be acknowledged in the deliverance of souls from the snare of sin. Had He not been merciful to usโ€“had He not laid hold upon us as He did with Lotโ€“we too, would have lingered, and our lingering would have been our ruin. Lot was charged to flee for his life, to set not his heart upon S***m, nor to look behind him. Such a command is likewise given to those whom grace has drawn out of a sinful state. Return not to sin and to Satan; tarry not in the ease of self or the vanity of the world. Flee, rather, to Christ and to Heavenโ€“our true refuge, our mountain of safetyโ€”and we must not stop short of reaching it.

Our God is just and holy. He sees every sin, even the hidden ones, and His righteous judgment cannot be stopped. One day, whether now or at His return, God will rightly separate those in Christ from those who live in unrepentant wickedness.

As believers, we must not conform to the sinful patterns of this world. Like Lot, some Christians risk becoming numb to the culture around them. But we are called to be salt and lightโ€”not blending in, but standing firm in truth and compassion.

Just as the angels led Lot to safety, we too are called to point others to Jesus, our refuge and rescuer. Godโ€™s judgment is sureโ€”but so is His power to save by virtue of Jesus Christ the greater intercessor than Abraham.

Let us by His grace, stand firm in holiness, shine brightly in a dark world, and trust in the God who rescues!

๐‹๐š๐ฌ๐ญ ๐‹๐จ๐ซ๐โ€™๐ฌ ๐ƒ๐š๐ฒ, we were reminded of the greatness of Godโ€™s justice and the riches of His mercy.

We reflected on Genesis 19:1โ€“26, understanding that at the right time, the Lord bestowed judgment on S***m and Gomorrah because of their wickedness and their exceedingly sinful obsession with the passions of the flesh, including homosexuality and sexual immorality. They were ripe for judgment, ๐ฒ๐ž๐ญ ๐ ๐ซ๐š๐œ๐ž ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฆ๐ž๐ซ๐œ๐ฒ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ข๐ซ ๐ฐ๐š๐ฒ ๐ญ๐จ ๐‹๐จ๐ญ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ก๐ข๐ฌ ๐Ÿ๐š๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฒ.

He was not part of God's covenant, but for Abraham's sake, He saved Lot and gave him gracious chances even amid unbelief. In the narrative, we see God's powerful and merciful hand bringing Lot to safetyโ€”๐‡๐ž ๐ข๐ฌ ๐Ÿ๐š๐ข๐ญ๐ก๐Ÿ๐ฎ๐ฅ ๐ญ๐จ ๐‡๐ข๐ฌ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฌ๐ž.

So, church, let us be in awe of God's great glory. For amid His wrath toward those who constantly rebel against Him, we have been found and given a great Savior. He lavishly pours out His lovingkindness to sinners like us. He saved us through Christ from our rebellion and continuously saves us in moments of unbelief.

Praise the Lord, His mercy is more! His mercy endures! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

The church is comprised of different parts, like the eye, the ear, the hand, and the footโ€”each with a unique function. Yet, we work together in unity, each part fulfilling its God-given role. Our gifts are not given for our own profit, but for the strengthening and growth of the church.

As members of one body, we each have distinct gifts, graciously given by God for the purpose of building up and maturing the entire body.

โ€œEveryone who is born of God, becomes part of one body โ€“ whose head is Jesus Christ!โ€

๐’๐ก๐š๐ฅ๐จ๐ฆ ๐๐ซ๐ž๐ญ๐ก๐ซ๐ž๐ง!

Yesterday, on the Lord's Day, we studied 1 Corinthians 12:12โ€“26, where the Apostle Paul so helpfully reminds the church in Corinthโ€”and usโ€”that the body of Christ is one, composed of many members working together for the good of the whole, reflecting the image of Christ in unity.

The ever-living and ever-relevant Word of God speaks to us still: "๐‘ฎ๐’๐’… ๐’‚๐’“๐’“๐’‚๐’๐’ˆ๐’†๐’… ๐’•๐’‰๐’† ๐’Ž๐’†๐’Ž๐’ƒ๐’†๐’“๐’” ๐’Š๐’ ๐’•๐’‰๐’† ๐’ƒ๐’๐’…๐’š, ๐’†๐’‚๐’„๐’‰ ๐’๐’๐’† ๐’๐’‡ ๐’•๐’‰๐’†๐’Ž, ๐’‚๐’” ๐‘ฏ๐’† ๐’„๐’‰๐’๐’”๐’†." (v.18) In His divine wisdom and by the grace given to us, when every part functions as it should, the body builds itself up in love, grounded in the truth (Ephesians 4:16).

May it be the prayer of our hearts as a church that the Lord would conform us more and more into the likeness of His Sonโ€”a holy sacrifice, a worthy instrument for the expansion of His kingdom.
And may we love one another, even as Christ has loved us, so that the world might see and know that we belong to Him (John 13:34โ€“35).
