As we near the end of our study in Colossians, Paulโ€™s final greetings introduce us to believers whom Christ had graciously redeemed and who were now laboring for the sake of His kingdom. Their lives remind us that the gospel is not merely a message we believe, but a power that transforms us and calls us to serve Christ and His people.

We have been redeemed to belong to Christ, to serve His people, and to labor faithfully for His kingdom, following the example of Christ, who, being fully God and fully man, humbly served His people (Matthew 20:28). Having been loved by Him when we were undeserving, we are called to reflect that love through humble service to others.

Church, may we ask ourselves: Are our hands willing to labor for His kingdom, and are our knees bent in prayer for His people? If Christ has redeemed us, we should not merely be people who receive ministry, but people who gladly serve with our hands and labor on our knees in prayer.

May the gospel that saved us continually move us to love, serve, pray, and labor faithfully for Christโ€”not to earn His favor, but because we have already received His grace and love.

On the ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿต๐˜๐—ต ๐—Ÿ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ฑ'๐˜€ ๐——๐—ฎ๐˜†, we were reminded that the Christian's work is measured not merely by outward excellence, but by a heart that labors sincerely before the Lord. There is no divide between the sacred and the ordinary, for whatever we do is to be done heartily as unto the Lord, who sees both our work and our hearts.

How easily our hearts seek the approval of men, even while our hands appear diligent. Yet the Lord, who searches the heart, calls us to a higher serviceโ€”not merely to work well, but to work unto Him. Every task, whether seen or unseen, honorable or humble, falls beneath the gracious lordship of Christ.

The gospel does not only redeem our souls; it also redeems our motives. It teaches us that the truest reward is not found in the praise of men, but in the inheritance promised by our heavenly Master.

Therefore, let us labor with wholehearted devotion, knowing that in every faithful duty, we are serving the Lord Christ.

The 28th Lordโ€™s Day Celebration

Every Lordโ€™s Day is a gracious gift - a weekly reminder that our God is worthy of worship, and where His people are strengthened as we gather in His presence.

Psalm 92 reminded us that โ€œIt is good to give thanks to the LORD, and to sing praises to your name.โ€ It is truly a privilege to come together as we lifted our voices in praise, sought Him together in prayer and sat under the preaching of His Word.

May the truths we received today bear fruit in our lives - to live for the honor and glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. Soli Deo Gloria!

Last Lordโ€™s Day, we had the privilege of once again surveying Colossians chapter 3. The sermon reminded us that our identity in Christ ought to produce the character of Christ in us.

The Scriptures taught us that, by God's kindness, we who were once strangers and enemies have been chosen, loved, and set apart for Himself. Therefore, Paul exhorts believers to put on compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, patience, forgiveness, and above all, love.

Yet Paul is not giving us a ladder to climb our way into heaven. This is not a call to mere moral improvement. Rather, he is describing the fruit that grows from a life united to Jesus Christ. These virtues are not the basis of our salvation, but they are the evidence of it.

Church, we must continually ask ourselves: Are we humbled by the truth that God has chosen and loved us despite our unworthiness? Does our life bear evidence that we truly belong to Him?

Though our walk remains imperfect, God faithfully secures His covenant with us in Christ. As we remember what He has accomplished for us at the Cross, our hearts are stirred afresh to become more like Himโ€”to be clothed in Christ, and to reflect His beauty before a watching world.

Last Lordโ€™s Day, we were reminded from Matthew 16:13โ€“20 that the church of Christ stands upon the unshakable confession that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God.

When Jesus asked His disciples, โ€œWho do you say that I am?โ€, He was not seeking information but calling forth a confession. While many in the crowds held different opinions about Him, Peter declared by God's grace that Jesus is the promised Messiah and the Son of God. This confession became the foundation upon which Christ promised to build His church.

Through the centuries, kingdoms have risen and fallen, cultures have changed, and countless voices have opposed the truth of the gospel. Yet the church remainsโ€”not because of the strength of men, the wisdom of leaders, or the faithfulness of any generation, but because Christ Himself is building it.

As we reflect upon God's faithfulness throughout the years, we are reminded that the same confession that came from Peter's lips continues to sustain Christ's people today. We are still gathered by the same Savior, upheld by the same promise, and sent forth with the same gospel. Our confidence rests not in what we have built, but in the One who said, โ€œI will build My church.โ€

May we continue to stand firm upon this glorious truth: Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. He has been building His church, He is building His church, and He will surely bring His work to completion.

โ€œI will build My church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.โ€ โ€” Matthew 16:18
