Being a Christian is not something we should take lightly. Our life on earth is temporary, and our true success is measured not by worldly achievements, but by the character we develop and the faithfulness with which we serve the Lord.
To live a victorious Christian life, we must first have the desire to faithfully serve the Lord and commit our lives to Him. As Proverbs 10:24 reminds us, “the desire of the righteous shall be granted.” We must surrender our plans, ambitions, and desires to God's will and make Him the priority in our lives.
But desire must be accompanied by discipline. Job was described by God as “a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil” (Job 1:8). Even when trials came, he remained faithful and held fast to his integrity (Job 2:3). In the same way, we must learn to remain faithful even when it is difficult and when our faith is tested.
Finally, we need determination. We must persevere and allow God to make us “a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work” (2 Timothy 2:21). There will be trials and moments when we may feel like giving up, but we must continue pressing forward and remain faithful to the calling God has given us.
Desire, discipline, and determination—these help us become vessels that God can use for His glory.
Gusto ni Lord magtagumpay ka. Not merely according to the world's definition of success, but as a faithful Christian, a vessel of honor, and a servant prepared for every good work.
