LOOK 👀 || The Catholic Faith Defenders (CFD) Tacloban Chapter successfully hosted its first ever Board of Stewards Meeting, a historic gathering that brought together members from different chapters across the Archdiocese of Palo. Among the participating communities were delegates from Leyte and Samar specifically, Ormoc, Isabel, Merida, Borongan, and Naval, signifying the growing unity and strength of the defenders of the Catholic faith in the region.
The assembly was graced by the presence of Bro. Jessel Mosquera and Bro. Jovenal Alesna, members of the CFD Board of Governors and spiritual adviser, who served as the main speakers of the event. They clearly expounded on how the Catholic Faith Defenders is regulated within its jurisdiction, highlighting its roles, responsibilities, and regulations in the mission of defending, deepening, and spreading the Catholic faith. Their talks emphasized the importance of fidelity to Church teachings and obedience to ecclesiastical authority in carrying out the CFD’s apostolate.
A significant milestone of the gathering was the first ever election of officers at the ecclesiastical level, ensuring the proper structure and leadership of the movement within the Archdiocese. This historic step further strengthens the mission of CFD in uniting chapters under one vision of evangelization and faith defense.
The event was solemnly concluded with a closing prayer and blessing led by Rev. Fr. Romeo D. Gomez (Fr. Choi), Spiritual Director of the Catholic Faith Defenders in Tacloban City. He imparted words of encouragement and invoked God’s grace for the newly elected officers and all participants.
This first Board of Stewards Meeting marks a new chapter in the life of the Catholic Faith Defenders in Eastern Visayas, fostering solidarity, mission, and service to the Church. Truly, it was a gathering guided by the Holy Spirit, rooted in faith, and committed to the mission of Christ.
“United in faith, strengthened in truth, and guided by the Church, the Catholic Faith Defenders stand firm as soldiers of Christ in the service of God and His people.”
