Today, on the Sixth Sunday of Easter, Jesus offers His disciples a gift that the world cannot giveโpeace. Not the kind that depends on circumstances or the absence of problems, but a deeper peace rooted in His presence. It is a peace that remains even in uncertainty, one that steadies the heart when everything else feels unsettled.
As Jesus prepares His disciples for His departure, He assures them that they will not be left alone. The promise of the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, reveals that God continues to guide, teach, and remind us of all that Christ has said. Even when we feel lost or unsure, we are not without direction. Godโs presence remains active, gently leading us forward.
In our lives, peace can feel fragile. It is often disrupted by worries, pressures, and the constant noise around us. We search for control, for clarity, for something to hold onto. Yet Jesus invites us into a different kind of trustโnot in our ability to manage everything, but in His faithful presence within us.
โTo not let your hearts be troubledโ is not a command to ignore reality, but an invitation to see it differently. It is choosing to believe that God is at work even in what we do not understand. It is resting in the assurance that His love is constant, His guidance is real, and His promises endure.
As we continue through the Easter season, may we receive the peace Christ offersโnot as something temporary, but as a lasting gift. And in carrying that peace within us, may we become a source of calm, hope, and reassurance to those around us.
