DIVINE TRIUMPH: 112 UCCP Youth Gather for Spiritual Renewal in Kalinga

Driven by God's word, fueled by youth, and anchored in absolute faith.

LUBUAGAN, KALINGA— To deepen their spiritual journey, 112 young believers of the United Church of Christ in the Philippines (UCCP), the Christian Youth Fellowship (CYF) gathered for the Summer Institute in Biblical Studies (SIBS) 2026 on May 11-16, turning UCCP Lubuagan into a vibrant sanctuary of worship and learning.

With the theme “Walking with Jesus: Journeying with the Anawim,” the participants spent six transformative days immersed in scripture and fellowship, drawing themselves closer to God while building a more loving community dedicated to serving others.

Under the guidance of SIBS Director and Principal Ptr. Daisy Elen Dagupon, and led by NHC-CYF President Joshua Daguasi and Secretary Heirha Abon, with the facilitation team headed by RJ Deypis of CYF Lubuagan, Rovie, Kelly, Mariz, Princess, Jessica, and Jane who dedicated their time in service to their fellow youth.

Participants were divided into two categories, Level 1 (Matthew, Mark, and Luke) and Level 2 (Deborah and Gideon). Both groups focused their studies on the UCCP Statement of Faith and the Bible.

Behind the scenes, a dedicated kitchen team headed by Ma'am Janice Alwiyao and CWA that worked tirelessly to prepare meals, ensuring all 112 CYF participants were well-nourished throughout the program.

"The feeling is very pleasant that I get to pass on the enjoyment I had back when I was just a delegate with my fellow CYF," shared North Highland Conference Secretary Heirha Abon.

Equipped with fresh insights and a deeper love for God, they step forward today not just as tomorrow's leaders, but as living testimonies of faith in action.
