Chit Agony

I am a little bit proud to tell that I have five (5) nicknames. One of my nicknames is Cito. My co-scholar who was also from Leyte particularly in Waray area pronounced and called me Chit instead of Cit that created another nickname which is Chito. I was called in college Chito which became my fifth (5th) nickname. I got the idea of making Chit to be my Alias which means a little boy. At my age now, though I am no longer little, I remain small. Recently, I prefer Chit to be my screen name in Facebook.
I love to be called Chit because it is the equivalent of Niño, a Spanish word, which also means a little boy. Niño is the word used for the child who is holy because the image of Jesus as a child originated from Spain. Santo Niño or Holy Child's image was received in the Philippines specifically in Cebu City in 1521 during the Magellan's Expedition. To give more emphasis to the country's acceptance of Sto. (Santo) Niño, Magellan's life was taken away by a Filipino and his dead body was buried in the country.
Chit as my first screen name is paired with Agony as my screen surname because the later is an English word which means suffering and can be derived from Agunias. Though my family name Agunias is spelled differently, it sounds the same as "Agonyas" - a Cebuano term which means the ringing of bells for a mass for the dead. Speaking of dead, life after death will be miserably in agony if undelivered from the valley of sins.
The Child Jesus was in agony when he was grown-up in his last days on earth as it was shown in his Agony in the Garden of Gethsemane. Personally, I feel that my life is in agony ever since - living on earth so differently from the rests in all aspects. This was confirmed by Kuya Freddie in saying, "Kalooy sad ining Maestroha, nagpas-an ug singkwenta ka Krus." - How pitiful is this Teacher, carrying fifty Crosses.
Chit Agony is, therefore, a screen name not so far from the real Anecito Agunias who can relate a life in agony like that of Sto. Niño who was once a little boy and grown-up to Suffer and Offer his life purposely for the welfare of anyone, avoiding in such a way the agony in HELL and even in the cleansing area in PURGATORY so as to enjoy life in HEAVEN till forever.

Church's bell in Cebu was ringing.
But,
if it is calling for a mass for the dead
then it is "agonyas".
Agunias is a modified spelling of agonyas.

Maestro

Kuya Freddie, the Superior General, called me "Maestro" which means Teacher because I am a teacher by profession.
I am Anecito Purog Agunias. My first name Anecito begins with letter A and has a letter i as the fifth letter. So do with my family name which has letters A and i in the same places as first and fifth letters, respectively. Both are having seven (7) letters. (Words first and fifth begin with f and have 5 letters.) That is why I excluded my middle name in my Facebook account because of my first and last names semilarity.
Lately, I found out that my middle name is nice. It begins with letter P and ends with g. Letters P and g have heads that are facing each other and both have tails downward. Though it begins with P and has only 5 letters, the first and last letters supplement each other since the bulge of P is to the right while the bulge of g is to the left.
"Ane" in Cebuano, the dialect in the whole province of Cebu, means harvest. And, cito has two syllables which sounds semilar to that of sito in lemonsito. "Lemonsito" in English is lemon. Lemon is a fruit which has plenty of vitamin C (as in cito) and a good natural appetiser. So, Anecito is harvest of lemons. This is what Kuya Freddie explained to me.
Agunias is a modified spelling since it is spelled as "Agonyas" in Cebuano which is defined as "bagting sa kampana para sa misa sa patay" - ringing of the bell for a mass for the dead. Kuya said that when I call their is a dead. That probably is the reason why I, being Agunias, was called to the organization Sr. Sto. Niño Crusaders for its concern is the dead (the separated body and soul).
Purog is similar to "Payag" in Filipino, the national language in the Philippines, which means permit, allow or agree. "Payag naman akong maging Crusader." - I agree to be a Crusader. Also, it is the same as "Pag-ibig" which means Love. "Dahil sa Pag-ibig tayo ay nabubuhay." - Because of Love we Live. But, most of all, "Puro" means Pure and g may stands for gold. Presumably, Purog means Pure Gold.
The similarity of my first and last names as well as the goodness of my middle name make me grateful for having such name. Much more, I am happy having a full name Anecito Purog Agunias with meanings which are HARVEST and CALLING (for the living for a mass for the dead) with the presumptive meaning which is PURE GOLD - the genuine.
