MONTH OF THE HOLY ROSARY | OCTOBER

Tomorrow, the TAPCOY, together with the Altar Servers and the Lector and Commentator Ministry, will lead our month-long Rosary and Angelus prayers as we celebrate the Month of the Holy Rosary.

We encourage everyone to bring your rosaries, pure intentions, and faithful hearts as we gather in prayer and meditation on the life of Christ through the mysteries of the Holy Rosary.

May our Blessed Mother Mary, through her loving intercession, lead us closer to her Son, Jesus, and teach us to live with deeper faith, hope, and love.

FEAST OF THE HOLY ARCHANGELS | SEPTEMBER 29

Today, the Church celebrates the Feast of the Holy Archangels—St. Michael, St. Gabriel, and St. Raphael, whose names remind us of God's power, strength, and healing love.

St. Michael the Archangel – “Who is like God?” The defender of heaven, inspiring us to stand firm in faith and fight against evil.

St. Gabriel the Archangel – “God is my strength.” The messenger who announced the coming of Jesus, reminding us to trust and follow God's will.

St. Raphael the Archangel – “God heals.” The companion and healer in the Book of Tobit, reminding us that God guides and heals us through life's journey.

May the Holy Archangels protect us, strengthen our faith, and guide us closer to Christ.

St. Michael, St. Gabriel, and St. Raphael, pray for us!

DUAW PEDRO 2026

Last September 25, 2026, the Diocese of Naval and the Holy Child Parish of Tabango were blessed to welcome the National Pilgrim Image of St. Pedro Calungsod from the Cebu Archdiocesan Shrine of St. Pedro Calungsod.

The image was warmly welcomed by Rev. Fr. Marlon Gelizon, Parish Priest, together with Rev. Fr. Alden John Baran, Rector of the said Shrine. The welcoming was followed by a Holy Mass presided over by Fr. Baran and concelebrated by Fr. Marlon and Rev. Fr. Edgar “Pops” Dolina, a priest of the Diocese of Naval. After the celebration, the image was venerated by the parish catechists and young faithful.

In the afternoon, the pilgrim image was transferred from the Parish Church to St. Pedro Calungsod Chapel in Brgy. Gimarco. A motorcade journeyed through the town and the mountains of Tabango, accompanied by the band of Pastor Salazar National High School.

Upon arrival, a Holy Mass was celebrated at the chapel with the faithful of Brgy. Gimarco. In the evening, the Gimarco Youth Ministry presented a reenactment of the life and martyrdom of the young Visayan martyr, St. Pedro Calungsod. The faithful then gathered in prayer and veneration, offering their devotion until the conclusion of the image’s pilgrimage in the Diocese of Naval.

The National Pilgrim Image was later transferred to the Diocese of Borongan, continuing its journey of faith and devotion.

May the life, courage, and unwavering faith of St. Pedro Calungsod inspire us, especially the young, to remain steadfast in our faith and to courageously witness Christ in our daily lives.

FEAST OF ST. LORENZO RUIZ DE MANILA

Today, we celebrate the feast of St. Lorenzo Ruiz de Manila, the first Filipino canonized saint and a courageous witness of faith. His liturgical feast is celebrated every September 28.

May the life and martyrdom of St. Lorenzo inspire the youth and all of us to remain faithful to Christ, especially in moments when our faith is tested. May his courage remind us that serving Christ is not only something we do inside the church, but a way of life we are called to live every day.

“I am a Christian, and wholeheartedly do I accept death.”

St. Lorenzo Ruiz, pray for us.

DUAW PEDRO: The National Visit of the Pilgrim Image of Saint Pedro Calungsod

From Cebu to the local Churches of Bohol and Eastern Visayas, the pilgrim image of Saint Pedro Calungsod begins its journey of faith, communion, and mission from September 21–29, 2026.

September 21–22 — Diocese of Tagbilaran
September 22–23 — Diocese of Talibon
September 23–24 — Diocese of Maasin
September 24–25 — Archdiocese of Palo
September 26–27 — Diocese of Naval
September 27–28 — Diocese of Borongan
September 28–29 — Diocese of Catarman

Duaw Pedro is more than the visitation of a sacred image. It is a spiritual pilgrimage that brings the witness and missionary spirit of Saint Pedro Calungsod closer to local Churches, families, young people, catechists, and devotees—strengthening our communion and renewing our missionary zeal.

This national journey also serves as a spiritual preparation for a historic year of celebrations in 2027, marking:

355th Anniversary of the Martyrdom of Saint Pedro Calungsod;
360th Anniversary of his departure from the Philippines for the Marianas Islands;
15th Anniversary of his Canonization; and
25th Anniversary of the Dedication of the Cebu Archdiocesan Shrine of Saint Pedro Calungsod.

Saint Pedro Calungsod was a young Visayan catechist who gave himself generously to the mission of proclaiming the Gospel and remained faithful to Christ even unto martyrdom. The Church recognizes him as a model of courageous faith and missionary discipleship.

As Duaw Pedro journeys from one local Church to another, may his example remind us that holiness is not distant or impossible. It is a journey of faithful service, courageous witness, and love for Christ.

Saint Pedro Calungsod, help us to become saints like you!
