Our post today has two parts. The first is focused on our Dear Lord Jesus Christ, the Redeemer, and the second part is more about His mother — Our Blessed Virgin Mary, Our Mama Mary of Caysasay — as Soledad, both in English and Tagalog versions.
English:
I. The Victory of the Risen Christ:
The stone has been rolled away, and the world is forever changed. Today, we celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ — the ultimate triumph over death and evil. Through His rising, the grave is no longer a final destination but has been transformed into a passage of hope for all of humanity.
This is the heart of the Paschal Mystery: the ultimate victory over sin and the final defeat of darkness. In this sacred moment, the "sting of death" is removed, proving that evil never had the final word. Instead, we are offered reconciliation, eternal life, and a profound liberation from fear.
The Resurrection stands as the Christian Gospel’s greatest testament — the ultimate demonstration of God’s boundless love. He did not just conquer the grave; He opened the way for us to share in His glory.
Scriptural Reflections
On the Defeat of Death:
"Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ" (1 Corinthians 15:55–57, NABRE).
On the Passage of Hope:
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who in his great mercy gave us a new birth to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead" (1 Peter 1:3, NABRE).
On the Victory over Darkness:
"The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it" (John 1:5, NABRE).
On God’s Ultimate Love:
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life" (John 3:16, NABRE).
Tagalog:
Ang Tagumpay ng Muling Nabuhay na Kristo
Naigulong na ang bato, at ang mundo ay habambuhay nang nagbago. Ngayong araw, ipinagdiriwang natin ang Muling Pagkabuhay ng ating Panginoong Hesukristo — ang rurok ng tagumpay laban sa kamatayan at kasamaan. Dahil sa Kanyang pagbangon, ang libingan ay hindi na dulo ng lahat, kundi naging isang landas ng pag-asa para sa buong sangkatauhan.
Ito ang sentro ng Misteryo Paskwal (Paschal Mystery): ang ganap na pagpanalo laban sa kasalanan at ang huling pagkagapi ng kadiliman. Sa banal na sandaling ito, ang "halimuyak ng kamatayan" ay pinalis, na nagpapatunay na ang kasamaan ay hindi kailanman nagkaroon ng huling salita. Sa halip, tayo ay hinandugan ng pakikipagkasundo, buhay na walang hanggan, at malalim na paglaya mula sa takot.
Ang Muling Pagkabuhay ang pinakadakilang patotoo ng Mabuting Balita ng Kristiyano — ang rurok na pagpapakita ng walang hanggang pag-ibig ng Diyos. Hindi lamang Niya tinalo ang libingan; binuksan Niya ang daan upang makabahagi tayo sa Kanyang kaluwalhatian.
Mga Pagninilay mula sa Banal na Kasulatan (NABRE)
Sa Pagkatalo ng Kamatayan:
"Nasaan, O kamatayan, ang iyong pagtatagumpay? Nasaan, O kamatayan, ang iyong tibo? Ang tibo ng kamatayan ay ang kasalanan, at ang kapangyarihan ng kasalanan ay ang kautusan. Ngunit salamat sa Diyos na nagbibigay sa atin ng pagtatagumpay sa pamamagitan ng ating Panginoong Hesukristo" (1 Corinto 15:55–57, NABRE).
Sa Landas ng Pag-asa:
"Purihin ang Diyos at Ama ng ating Panginoong Hesukristo, na dahil sa kanyang dakilang awa ay muli tayong isinilang sa isang buhay na pag-asa sa pamamagitan ng muling pagkabuhay ni Hesukristo mula sa mga patay" (1 Pedro 1:3, NABRE).
Sa Tagumpay Laban sa Kadiliman:
"Nagliliwanag ang ilaw sa kadiliman, at hindi ito nagapi ng kadiliman" (Juan 1:5, NABRE).
Sa Dakilang Pag-ibig ng Diyos:
"Sapagkat gayon na lamang ang pag-ibig ng Diyos sa sanlibutan kaya ibinigay niya ang kanyang tanging Anak, upang ang sinumang sumampalataya sa kanya ay hindi mapahamak kundi magkaroon ng buhay na walang hanggan" (Juan 3:16, NABRE).
II. Easter Sunday: The unveiling of Joy!
Transition from the "Great Silence" of Holy Saturday to the "Easter Joy" of Sunday morning:
Soledad meets the light of the Resurrection!
The mourning of the Soledad is transformed into the radiance of the Risen Lord. While the world stood in silence, her certain hope was realized. Today, the darkness of the tomb is shattered, and the promise of life eternal is fulfilled.
Scriptural Reference:
"He is not here, for he has been raised just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay" (Matthew 28:6, NABRE).
Tagalog:
Ang hapis ng Soledad ay nagisnan ng liwanag ng muling pagkabuhay ng Panginoon. Sa gitna ng katahimikan ng libingan, nagbunga ang kanyang matibay na pananampalataya. Ngayong araw, ang kadiliman ay tinalo ng liwanag, at ang pangako ng buhay na walang hanggan ay natupad.
Scriptural Reference:
"Wala na siya rito, sapagkat siya'y muling nabuhay, gaya ng kanyang sinabi. Halikayo at tingnan ninyo ang dakong pinaglagakan sa kanya" (Mateo 28:6, NABRE).
