πŸŽ‰ YOUTH ON FIRE! πŸ”₯✨

What an incredibly blessed, vibrant, and unforgettable Parish Youth Day! πŸ™Œ Last May 23, 2026, our hearts were filled with faith, fellowship, and pure joy as the San Nicolas de Tolentino Parish Youth Ministry gathered to celebrate our shared love for Christ.

From morning inspiration to afternoon excitement, it was a day to remember. Here’s a look back at our grace-filled gathering:

🧠 Nurturing the Mind and Soul: Mental Health & The Holy Eucharist
We kicked off the day with powerful, timely insights from our guest speaker, Kuya Rey Barnido, who opened up a vital conversation on Mental Health and How to Manage It. He reminded us that taking care of our mental well-being is deeply connected to our spiritual life, giving us practical ways to navigate stress, anxiety, and the pressures of daily life while keeping our faith anchored. Thank you, Kuya Rey, for bringing light, understanding, and comfort to our hearts!

The ultimate highlight of our gathering was the celebration of the Holy Mass. Our deepest gratitude to our Priest-in-Charge, Rev. Fr. Rolmart Verano, and our Parish Rector, Rev. Fr. Larry Espuerta, for concelebrating the Holy Eucharist. Thank you, Fathers, for your unwavering guidance, spiritual support, and for always providing a safe, loving space where the youth can grow in mind and spirit!

πŸ† Fun, Talents, and Fellowship
The energy shifted into high gear in the afternoon as our youth showcased their brilliance, creativity, and teamwork through various friendly competitions:

🧠 Bible Quiz Bee – Testing our knowledge of God's Word!

πŸ—£οΈ Bible Verse Relay – Spreading the Message with speed and accuracy!

🎨 Poster Making – Bringing faith to life through beautiful artistry!

🎀 Variety Show – Showcasing the spectacular God-given talents of our youth!

❀️ A Million Thanks to Everyone!
This event wouldn’t have been a massive success without the incredible support of our community.

To all the chapels, clusters, youth leaders, church organizations, our PYM President Chito Clerigo and volunteers who supported, participated, and cheered: THANK YOU! Your presence and dedication proved that when the youth unite, beautiful things happen for the glory of God.

"And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." β€” Matthew 16:18

Today, we celebrate Pentecostβ€”the birthday of the Church. It’s a beautiful reminder that our faith isn't just a set of rules, but a living, breathing body sustained by the Holy Spirit. πŸ•ŠοΈ

We are a church of saints and sinners, built on the foundation of the Apostles, stretching across every continent and century. What a gift it is to call this Church home. 🏠❀️

Bishop Yiet, yours is a ministry of presence. In your quiet strength, we find a sanctuary, and in your steady hands, we find a leader who truly knows the heart of his people. Thank you for teaching us that the most powerful witness of faith is often found in kindness and humility.

As you celebrate your birthday, we ask the Lord to pour out His most abundant blessings upon you. May your heart be filled with the same peace you have cultivated in our diocese, and may you continue to lead us with the gentle wisdom that has become your hallmark.

The people of Surigao are profoundly grateful for the gift of your life and your vocation.

We are especially proud to see our very own PYM Cathedral President and Diocesan Youth Leader, Chito Clerigo, joining the youth of OLPP in this vibrant gathering of faith. It is a beautiful testament to our unity as one diocesan community, standing together as "Pillars of Faith".

πŸ™ 𝑨𝒅 𝑴𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒐𝒔 𝑨𝒏𝒏𝒐𝒔! (Translation: To many more years!)

Today we celebrate the 1st Anniversary of the election of our Holy Father, 𝑷𝒐𝒑𝒆 𝑳𝒆𝒐 𝑿𝑰𝑽!

One year ago, the white smoke rose and we welcomed a new shepherd to the Chair of Saint Peter. In his first year, Pope Leo has consistently called us to be "missionaries of peace" and to see the face of Christ in every person. Let us join together in prayer today for his health, his wisdom, and his continued service to the Universal Church.

πŸ’Œ β€œTrue peace is not simply the product of human effort but a gift of the Holy Spirit.” β€” Pope Leo XIV

𝑫𝑰𝑫 𝒀𝑢𝑼 𝑲𝑡𝑢𝑾?
Pope Leo XIV (born Robert Francis Prevost) is the π‘π’Šπ’“π’”π’• π‘¨π’Žπ’†π’“π’Šπ’„π’‚π’-𝒃𝒐𝒓𝒏 𝑷𝒐𝒑𝒆 in history!

However, he is also the first member of the 𝑢𝒓𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒇 π‘Ίπ’‚π’Šπ’π’• π‘¨π’–π’ˆπ’–π’”π’•π’Šπ’π’† (Augustinians) to be elected Pope in hundreds of years. This "Augustinian heart" is often seen in his teaching, focusing on the restless journey of the soul toward God.
