The Surigao Memorial Park Inc. family mourns the passing of one of its founding directors, Atty. Claro Luis G. Garcia.

Atty. Garcia passed peacefully this afternoon at the age of 91 in the company of his loved ones. His remains will be brought to the SMPI Chapel tomorrow at 10am Dec. 12. We request that visitors follow all Park rules and regulations as well as government-sanctioned COVID-19 health protocols.

Atty. Garcia was OIC-Vice Governor for Surigao del Norte in 1986 after the People Power Revolution. Aside from farming and lawyering, he founded a rural bank, a fuel station, and helped Hotel Tavern re-emerge as the leading hotel in Surigao. He also served as President of the Surigao Chamber of Commerce and Industry, President of the Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines, and Director of the Mindanao Business Council.

You are encouraged to visit the final resting places of your loved ones before October 30 and after November 2, 2021.
