Mark 4:40-41 (NIV)

40 He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”
41 They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”

3 Key Points to Remember:

1. Fear can make us forget God’s power.
The disciples were afraid because they focused entirely on the storm rather than the One who was with them. Jesus reminds us that fear must not overcome our faith.

2. Jesus is with us in every storm.
The storm didn't mean Jesus had abandoned them. Even when He appeared to be silent, He remained present and in control.

3. Jesus has authority over all things.
When Jesus calmed the wind and waves, the disciples realized He was more than just a teacher; He possessed divine power.

This passage teaches us to put our trust in Jesus during difficult times. Life may bring storms, but we can be at peace knowing that Jesus is greater than any problem we face.

"Sometimes we focus more on the size of the problem than the greatness of God."

Mark 4:40-41 teaches that when life seems out of control, remember that Jesus is not overwhelmed by the storm. Faith is trusting in His presence and power even when things appear bleak.

A personal reflection question based on this passage would be:
"What storm in my life is causing me to forget who is on the boat with me?"
