YIFI Cathedral Cluster We are aware of the supressing issues in the Philippine context. Moreover a civil war has been raging in the countryside since 1969.

The Youth of Iglesia Filipina Independiente (YIFI) is a (a) CHRISTIAN- acknowledges that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior; (b) NATIONALISTIC- bearing in mind and spirit the prophetic and historical ministry of the fore bearers of the Nation and IFI; (c) PROGRESSIVE- not to be held captive by supervision, mysticism, religious fundamentalism and fanaticism; and (d) MOVEMENT- delivering the finest of

ideals to help the Church and society in affecting changes. Landlessness, feudal exploitation, state brutality against the poor and marginalized- these are some of the issue that led to arm conflict and struggle. People struggling because of joblessness which results poverty and hunger; innocent, poor and helpless prisoners, unheard voices of the Filipinos. The YIFI is in solidarity with the struggle of the basic masses- the Lumad for their ancestral land, the poor, deprived, oppressed, and exploited in there plight for abundant life, the farmers for their land, and every Filipinos for a society where we experience The Kingdom of God. The YIFI SUGBONGCOGON CLUSTER evangelizing for and promoting just and lasting Peace. A kind of peace that is based on Justice.!

With hearts ready and minds open, youth representatives from various parishes and missions all over the Diocese of Sugbongcogon have gathered to begin their journey of becoming Christ-centered leaders. The Youth Orientation Program of the Cathedral Cluster (CYOP) was successfully conducted on March 30, 2025, at the Cathedral of Sugbongcogon. The event brought together youth from the various parishes and missions within the cluster, namely the Cathedral, Kidampas Parish, Ampianga Mission, Lagonglong Parish, and Balingasag Mission.

The program commenced with an opening worship led by The Revd. Roquelm Abcede, followed by a welcome address delivered by Mr. Aldrin Tabamo, the newly elected PYEC President of the Cathedral. Ms. Shaina Padua, the DYEC Secretary and former PYEC President of Balingasag Mission, facilitated the recognition of participants. The statement of purpose was articulated by Ms. Meljoy Dagoc, the Cluster AVP of Cathedral and new PYEC President of Kidampas Parish.

The orientation featured three informative inputs: (1) a presentation on the ๐‘ฉ๐’“๐’Š๐’†๐’‡ ๐‘ฏ๐’Š๐’”๐’•๐’๐’“๐’š ๐’๐’‡ ๐’•๐’‰๐’† ๐‘ฐ๐‘ญ๐‘ฐ by Revd. Roquelm V. Abcede, Priest of Balingasag Mission; (2) a sharing on the ๐‘ฏ๐’Š๐’”๐’•๐’๐’“๐’š ๐’๐’‡ ๐’€๐‘ฐ๐‘ญ๐‘ฐ by Mr. Julien B. Janao Jr., the newly elected PYEC President of Balingasag Mission; and (3) an exposition of the ๐’€๐‘ฐ๐‘ญ๐‘ฐ ๐‘ช๐’๐’๐’”๐’•๐’Š๐’•๐’–๐’•๐’Š๐’๐’ ๐’‚๐’๐’… ๐‘ฉ๐’š-๐‘ณ๐’‚๐’˜๐’” by Mr. Jeremy Raรฑises, the DYEC Deputy Secretary.

Deep appreciation is extended to all the Parish Priests, with particular acknowledgment to the Cluster Coordinator, Rev. Fr. Joker Cabulay, for their unwavering support. Furthermore, profound gratitude is expressed to the Diocesan Youth Executive Council (DYEC) and to the esteemed Diocesan Bishop, The Rt. Revโ€™d Romeo G. Tagud, for their continuous empowerment of the youth and their support for significant initiatives such as this.

It is hoped that the insights gained during the orientation will be actively applied, and participants are encouraged to maintain their enthusiasm and anticipate future engagement at the 2025 Diocesan Summer Youth Camp (DSYC).
