EARLIER: Diocesan Youth Council Planning and Update Meeting 2026

The Diocesan Youth Council, together with the Vicarial Directors, held its Planning and Update Meeting on January 30-31, 2026 focusing on the updating of youth leaders, the presentation of new initiatives, and key improvements in the youth ministry.

The Meeting Agenda tackled is as follows:

The First Diocesan Meeting of the Federation of Diocesan Youth Organizations (FDYO)
was successfully held this afternoon at the Diocesan Youth Center, Diocese of Sorsogon. The meeting was attended by representatives from the following diocesan youth organizations:

1. God’s Shepherd Covenant Community – Gubat
2. Living Word Covenant Community – Sorsogon City
3. Neo-Catechumenal Way
4. Light of the Holy Family Covenant Community – Bulan
5. CFC – Youth for Christ
6. CFC – Singles for Christ

The gathering was led by Rev. Fr. Renz Robert Grefalda, FDYO priest in-charge and Ms. Vivian D. Paz, FDYO Coordinator together with Rev. Fr. Richard Canaria, Diocesan Youth Director and Ms. Pauline V. Mapagdalita, Diocesan Youth Coordinator.

The meeting served as a meaningful gathering of youth leaders from different organizations fostering unity, collaboration, and shared vision in strengthening youth ministry across the diocese. Guided by faith and service, the FDYO takes its first step toward a more active and united diocesan youth community.

This milestone marks a significant step toward a more unified, organized, and mission-driven diocesan youth ministry.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT | MYN, DIOCESAN YOUTH CONGRESS and DIOCESAN YOUTH COUNCIL PLANNING and UPDATES MEETING

In the spirit of unity and transparency, we would like to share these important updates for everyone’s guidance and understanding:

🟦MYN UPDATES

MYN 2025 is postponed and will be moved back to its original schedule in September 2026. Specific dates will be announced in due time.

All paid MYN 2025 registration fees will be kept by the secretariat for the meantime. With this, please be informed that there will be NO REFUND.

All slots registered during the MYN 2025 pre-registration are considered RESERVED. Should there be any changes, participants may be replaced, and additional participants may still be accommodated.

🟦DIOCESAN YOUTH CONGRESS

Instead of proceeding with MYN 2025, the Diocese will be holding a Diocesan Youth Congress in the 1st quarter of the year.

🟦 DIOCESAN YOUTH COUNCIL PLANNING and UPDATES MEETING

We are pleased to formally announce that our Diocesan Youth Director, Rev. Fr. Richard M. Canaria has been appointed to another directorship as the Diocesan Campus Minister.

This appointment reflects his continued commitment, leadership, and faithful service to the youth and academic communities of our Diocese. We extend our sincere congratulations and assure him of our prayers and support as he undertakes this new responsibility in service of the Church.
