Today, we honor Mary, Mother of the Church. This title reminds us that as the Mother of Jesus Christ, she is also recognized as the spiritual Mother of all believers. In her maternal care, she continues to guide all of us, interceding for us and leading us closer to her Son, Jesus Christ.

The season that focuses on Jesus public ministry, His teachings and miracles.

Though named "ordinary" this season doesn't mean it is not important or less to other seasons in the liturgical year, but because the weeks are numbered in order.
The liturgical color during this time is green, symbolizing hope and growth.

The Birth of the Catholic Church

Today we remember the birth of the Catholic Church — the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church — when the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples.

May this Pentecost Sunday remind us that God is still moving, still filling hearts, and still changing lives in His mysterious ways through the Holy Spirit.

CBCP issues “A Nation’s Prayer for Enlightenment, Conversion and Renewal,” with approved translations in Tagalog, Bicolano, Binisaya, Ilocano, Hiligaynon, Cebuano and Kapampangan, following approval by the CBCP Permanent Council on May 20, 2026.

The CBCP Permanent Council said the prayer will be recited beginning Pentecost Sunday and continuing at least through July, according to the CBCP General Secretariat.

"As part of the 75th Jubilee Year of Grace, the Diocese of Sorsogon launches Camino de Gracia, a diocesan pilgrimage inspired by the world-famous Camino de Santiago in Spain.

STEP 1: Register through your parish or via the online registration form.

✅ Indicate whether you will walk or cycle

✅ Registration deadline: June 15, 2026

STEP 2: Select your schedule.

✅ Join the main pilgrimage on June 27–28

✅ Or begin your journey anytime starting June 12

STEP 3: Select your route and starting point.

✅ Choose where you wish to begin your pilgrimage

✅ You may walk only selected portions of the route for a shorter camino

✅ You may also combine different routes for a longer pilgrimage

STEP 4: Select your package and pay the corresponding amount.
