QUICK TIPS FOR PREPARING YOUR LINE-UP

1. Prepare Spiritually.
Never ever neglect the value and importance of spiritual disciplines in our lives. Prayer, fasting, reading His Word, solitude, worship. Don't prepare your spiritual life kapag malapit ka nang mag-lead ulit. Make it a discipline, a habit, your life. Worship is a spiritual thing that cannot be accomplished by the flesh.

2. Select a theme.
A theme may be a word, a phrase, a verse. It can be as simple as: "Salvation", "God's Greatness" or "Psalm 98." A solid and single theme narrows our focus and sharpens the message that we want to convey. We, as worship leaders are preachers- we are story tellers that uses songs instead of plain words. You can consult your pastor kung may topic na siya for next Sunday.

3. List All Songs Possible.
You can use online portals for Christian music, your Easyworship App, Spotify, Youtube. List ALL songs that fit into your theme. Mas maganda kung may scriptural reference ang isang kanta para alam mong nagja-jive sa tema at hindi naipilit lang. After doing that, then you do the katayan. Make a shortlist. There you build your line up.

4. Finalize your line up.
As you do your line up, consider the lyrical and musical continuity and flow. Consider also kung ilang minutes ka magle-lead ng worship. Moreover, you also need to consider the people whom you are leading. Hindi puwedeng ikaw lang ang kumakanta. Tandaan, leader ka nila for them to worship, hindi ka performer. Lastly, consult the band and your pastor if possible for some recommendations, changes, or para maipagpray ka nila as you do the task of delivering the line up.
