Sugat | The Finale

At the break of dawn, as the world still lay in silence, the faithful gathered at 4:00 in the early morning to witness the sacred and moving tradition of Sugat—the joyful encounter of the Risen Christ with His Blessed Mother.

"Sugat" is more than a reenactment; it is a profound expression of hope and victory. From sorrow to joy, from darkness to light, it proclaims the triumph of life over death, as the veil of grief is lifted and a mother is reunited with her Son who has conquered the grave. In this sacred meeting, we are reminded that no suffering is ever without the promise of resurrection.

Presided over by Rev. Fr. Roel Handayan, the celebration became a moment of grace, drawing hearts closer to the mystery of Easter and renewing our faith in the Risen Lord.

With grateful hearts, we extend our deepest thanksgiving to all who devoted their time, effort, and love throughout the entire Holy Week—those who served, prepared, participated, and journeyed together in faith. Your dedication has made these sacred celebrations truly meaningful and alive.

May the joy of the Risen Christ, first shared in this blessed encounter, continue to dwell in our hearts and guide us in the days to come.

He is Risen! | Easter Vigil

In the quiet and solemn night, we gathered as one community for the Easter Vigil at 8:00 PM at San Lorenzo Ruiz Mission Station, beautifully presided over by Rev. Fr. Roel Handayan. Beginning in darkness, we were reminded of the emptiness without Christ—but as the light of the Paschal candle spread among us, so did the hope and joy of His resurrection.

Through the Liturgy of the Word, we journeyed through salvation history, reflecting on God’s unwavering love and promises. As the Gloria resounded and the bells rang once more, our hearts were filled with joy, celebrating the triumph of life over death.

This sacred celebration renewed our faith, strengthened our spirit, and reminded us that no matter how dark life may seem, the light of Christ will always prevail. Truly, the Easter Vigil is a powerful reminder of new beginnings, hope, and everlasting love.

Alleluia! Christ is risen!
