PAGDUAW SA MGA KAPILYA | On May 3-4, 2026, the Mahal nga Patrona will visit the San Lorenzo Ruiz Mission Station at Brgy. Libas, Sogod, Southern Leyte.

This year, the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Assumption is spearheading a pilgrim visit of the Mahal nga Patrona throughout our diocese, especially in far-flung areas and in the peripheries.

Guided by the pastoral theme “Union with Christ and Mary in loving the poor,” the original image will visit strategically selected chapels, allowing the Blessed Mother to encounter as many of her children in the Diocese as possible.

As we deepen our meditation on and commitment to living out our preferential option for the poor, we are reminded of our Mahal nga Patrona—the "anawim" par excellence. We are called not only to acknowledge the poverty around us, but also to recognize our own spiritual poverty. In doing so, we discover our blessedness as God’s “little ones,” His faithful poor. 𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀

Tomorrow, our Parish and the BEC chapels in the barrios and sitios of Sogod, Southern Leyte observed the first day of the Flores de Mayo (Spanish for "flowers of May"). It is celebrated every day in the entire month of May as a tribute and a month-long devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, the mother of our Lord Jesus Christ, for the beneficial rain she brings that makes flowers bloom after the dry season.

The daily Flores was done by catechizing the children of the life and virtues of the Blessed Virgin Mary, as well as some Church doctrines, having the Holy Rosary, Novena sa Bulan sa Mayo, and the offering of flowers to Mary, the Virgen de las Flores. Our Parish is extremely grateful to those who participated, especially to the ever-enthusiastic children.
