As the first third of the year draws to a close, we reflect on the journey through January, February, March, and now April.
On the last 7th of January, the Church celebrated the 13th ministerial anniversary and we thank the Lord for His provision and enablement.
On the 9th of February, our young people gathered for their annual love banquet fellowship, embracing the theme of 'Love that Abounds'. Through meditating on 1 John 4:7-8, we were reminded of who and what love that abounds is, and how to demonstrate this kind of love. We were also reminded that love that abounds comes only from God, as Romans 5:8 says, "But God commendeth his love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
On the 11th of the same month, we held the 1st baptism of the year at Sunrise Beach Resort in Pinamalayan. 6 souls who came to know and accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior followed Him through water baptism and became part of a local church – Christian Gospel Baptist Fellowship of Leuteboro, Socorro.
Then, at the 28th and 29th of March, we thank the Lord because the opportunity that the holidays bring led us to gather with the fellow young people from CGBF Pinamalayan and CGBF Bansud. It was held at Batis Resort in Gloria. With the theme, "Prioritizing Our Commitment", a message from Philippians 4:7-8 was delivered, which reminded the young people of the reason and motivation of our commitment — Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior. We thank the Lord for the fun program that the leaders prepared and for this social and spiritual enriching fellowship.
We also thank the Lord as it has been years since the last, but now, the church's aim to reinstate our regular afternoon service has been fulfilled. We have been having six weeks of consistent afternoon services, and we thank the Lord for giving us this day and time that we could serve Him and worship Him. We are thankful as well for our 2 children's outreach in Matulatula, Pola. We pray that as we seek to expand our outreach for children, the people involved in this ministry will continue to seek for growth, understanding and valuing the Kids Ministry that the Lord has given us.
As the first third of the year is nearing to its end, we thank the Lord for the whole 4 months and all these blessings and privileges to learn, to grow, and to serve Him. All praise to Him, our Almighty King!
