IS SALVATION FOR ALL?

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:9

Often times, when the gospel is shared to a person, he seems rather convinced, and does not dispute the truth of what is being told to him. However, he then gives a nonchalant shrug, and says something like 'well nah, I think this whole Jesus and salvation thing is not for me'. Or maybe he would commend you for your faith and zeal, but lament that he is too deep in the world to find himself out of it. Is that how you are feeling as well?

My dear kapatid, this God of the Bible, is the God who created the whole world. HE CREATED YOU AND ME, AND EACH OF US WERE MADE IN THE IMAGE OF GOD. When He sent Jesus to die on the cross, it was because He loved the whole world. He has a care and concern for each and every one of His creation, and His desire is that not one of us should perish.

In fact, the very reason why the Lord has not yet returned to this world is because He is long-suffering, and waiting for more people to come to repentance. His promise is that He will return one day. But when Jesus comes in His second coming, He is no longer coming as a suffering servant, but He will be coming as the triumphant King, who would judge all sinners who have not yet repented. The whole earth will be destroyed, and only those who are saved will be enter into the new heaven and the new earth.

God's desire, as clearly stated in this verse, that He is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. In fact, He has 'no pleasure in the death of the wicked turn from his way and live' (Ezekiel 33:11).
The gospel, is freely given out to all who would hear. Anyone who simply receives the gospel by faith, who is convicted of his sin and would repent, will definitely be saved! This is the promise of God's Word. Note however that although this is what God desires, He still the perfect Judge who would judge all, who do not repent at the Day of Judgment. We are not to read this verse wrongly, and assume that since God does not desire for me to perish, then I am safe. No! God wants you to repent, and turn to Jesus Christ in faith, acknowledging that He is the only who can save you from your sins.

Lord, thank you for salvation so rich, so free and given to all.

WHY DO I NEED SALVATION?

There are many reasons why a person would come to church. It could be because of friends, family, trials that they face, or a tract that they receive. Whatever the reason, what they should soon realize, is their need for salvation. If they do not see that, then there would be no reason for them to stay at all. If at this moment, you have not seen your need for SALVATION, or do not find it important at all, then we must ask ourselves, why am I even coming to church for?

Paul tells us in Ephesians 2:1-3, that we were all once dead in trespasses and sins. Just like a person who is physically dead cannot resurrect himself, one who is dead in sin can do nothing to come alive spiritually. We are like corpses headed to hell, and nothing we do by ourselves can help us. Being dead, we are in Satan's domain, and are walking according to the wicked ways of the world, and worse still, walking according to the desires of satan himself, who is the prince of the power of the air. The Bible says that he is working in all the "children of disobedience''- people who are unsaved! This is indeed a scary thought, for we would then be simply minions of satan, doing his bidding.

It is therefore for this very reason that WE NEED CHRIST! We need to be quickened, to be made alive. We need to find a way out of this bo***ge of sin that we find ourselves in, out of a life where we are simply living to fulfill the terrible lustful desires of the flesh and mind. WE NEED A SAVIOUR WHO CAN CLEANSE US FROM ALL OUR SINS, AND BRING US INTO A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD!

Do you know who this Saviour is?
Have you really put your faith and trust in Him, and repented of your evil and wicked ways?
Or are you still the person Paul describes in Ephesians 2:1-3, one who is headed for destruction and condemnation?

PRAYER:
Lord, I realize my need for salvation. May You give me the grace to understand the gospel, to help me realize that I am dead in sin, to repent of them, and to have true faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen! 🙌🏽💙
