“You Will See the Son of Man” is a Christian song inspired by Mark 14:53-65, telling the powerful account of Jesus standing before the high priest and the Jewish council.
False witnesses rise against Jesus, but their testimonies do not agree. When the high priest finally asks Jesus, “Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?” Jesus answers, “I am,” and declares that they will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power and coming with the clouds of heaven.
The chorus draws from Psalm 110:1 and Daniel 7:13-14, pointing beyond the courtroom, the false accusations, and the suffering to the authority, glory, and everlasting kingdom of Christ.
Though Jesus was mocked, beaten, condemned, and treated as worthy of death, Scripture reveals that the Son of Man will come with the clouds of heaven, possessing authority, glory, and a kingdom that will never be destroyed.

They led Jesus away to
stand before the high priest.
All the chief priests, elders,
and scribes also followed.

Peter shadowed them,
until he came to
the court of the high priest.
Peter sat with the officers
and warmed himself by the fire.

Now the chief priests
and the whole council sought
witnesses against Jesus
to put him to death,
but they found none.
For many gave false testimony,
but their statements didn't agree.

Some stood up and gave false testimony,
saying, “We heard him say,
‘I will destroy this temple
that is made with hands,
and in three days
I will build another made without hands.’”
Even so, their testimony didn’t agree.

There before me was One
Like a Son of Man,
Coming with the clouds of heaven.
He was given authority,

The high priest stood up
and questioned Jesus,
“What do You say
to these accusations?”
But Jesus remained silent.
Then he asked Him,
“Are You the Christ,
the Son of the Blessed?”
Jesus said, “I am.
You will see the Son of Man
sitting at the right hand of Power,
and coming with the clouds of heaven.”

The high priest tore his clothes and said,
“What further need have we of witnesses?
You have heard the blasphemy!
What do you think?”
They all condemned him
to be worthy of death.
Some began to spit on him,
and to cover his face,
and to beat him with their fists,
shouting at him, “Prophesy!”
The officers struck him
with the palms of their hands.
