SOLEMNITY OF JESUS, DIVINE MASTER, THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE
October 25, 2026

Today, the Pauline Family celebrates the Solemnity of Jesus, Divine Master, the Way, the Truth, and the Lifeโ€”the principal devotion of the Pauline Family, inspired by Blessed James Alberione.

Jesus tells us in the Gospel of John:

โ€œI am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.โ€ (John 14:6)

Jesus is the Way who leads us to the Father, the Truth who enlightens our minds and hearts, and the Life who strengthens us with His grace. He is not merely someone we learn about; He is the Master we are called to follow, the Truth we are called to live, and the Life we are called to share with others.

As members of the Pauline Family, this celebration reminds us that Jesus must be at the center of our entire lives. Through prayer, study, formation, and apostolate, we are invited to know Him more deeply and make Him known to others through our words, actions, and use of the means of communication.

And for us? Do we allow Jesus to guide our decisions, enlighten our understanding, and transform the way we live? Are we willing to follow Him even when His way challenges our own plans?

May this solemnity renew our love for Jesus, our Divine Master. May He teach us to walk in His way, remain faithful to His truth, and share His life with everyone we encounter.

Jesus, Divine Master, the Way, the Truth, and the Life, teach us to know You, love You, and serve You faithfully.

Jesus, Divine Master, have mercy on us!

The Pauline vocation is a journey of prayer, community, formation, and creative serviceโ€”using the means of social communication to proclaim the Gospel and bring Christ to the world today.

The Society of St. Paul welcomes young men with diverse gifts and talents: writers, editors, artists, content creators, graphic designers, photographers, videographers, technicians, printers, production managers, and more.

If you are a Grade 12 student, college student, or young professional discerning a vocation to the priesthood or brotherhood and are drawn to the apostolate of social communication, perhaps the Lord is inviting you to journey with us.

October 22

St. John Paul II was born Karol Jรณzef Wojtyล‚a in Wadowice, Poland, in 1920. Despite experiencing personal loss and the hardships of war, he remained faithful to God and pursued his vocation to the priesthood. He was elected Pope on October 16, 1978, becoming the first Polish pope and one of the most influential leaders in the history of the Church. Throughout his pontificate, he dedicated himself to proclaiming the Gospel, strengthening the faith of the people, and reaching out especially to young people, families, and the sick. He was canonized by Pope Francis on April 27, 2014.

His life reminds us that faith is not simply about knowing God but also about trusting Him through every difficulty. St. John Paul II encouraged people, especially the youth, not to be afraid of following Christ. He showed that even in times of uncertainty and suffering, we can remain strong when our lives are rooted in God. His devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary also reminds us to entrust our lives to her loving care as we continue our journey of faith.

And for us? When we face challenges, doubts, and uncertainties in life, do we continue to trust in God, or do we allow our fears to weaken our faith?

๐Ÿ’ญ ALBERIONEโ€™S THOUGHTS FOR THIS DAY

โ€œReligious virtues are: More vibrant faith, Stronger hope, More ardent charity.โ€

โ€” Bl. James Alberione, FSP32*, 429

Blessed James Alberione reminds us that our relationship with God must continue to grow through faith, hope, and charity. St. John Paul II lived these virtues through his unwavering trust in the Lord, his hope amid difficult times, and his love for the Church and all people. His life teaches us that faith becomes stronger when we continue to trust God, hope grows when we do not give up, and charity becomes real when we learn to love and serve others.

May St. John Paul II inspire us to become courageous witnesses of Christ, especially in moments when following Him is not easy. May we learn to trust in God's plan, strengthen our faith through prayer, and share His love with everyone we meet.

St. John Paul II, pray for us!

St. Pedro Calungsod was a young Filipino catechist who dedicated his life to sharing the Christian faith. Coming from the Visayas, he joined the Jesuit missionaries in their mission to the Mariana Islands, particularly in Guam, where he helped teach the Gospel and assist in baptisms. Despite the difficulties and dangers of missionary life, Pedro remained faithful to Christ. On April 2, 1672, he was martyred alongside the Jesuit missionary Fr. Diego Luis de San Vitores. He was canonized by Pope Benedict XVI on October 21, 2012, becoming the second Filipino saint of the Catholic Church.

His life reminds us that holiness is not measured by age, achievements, or recognition, but by the love and faithfulness we offer to God. Even at a young age, St. Pedro Calungsod showed that we do not need to wait until we are older to serve the Lord. Through his courage, simplicity, and dedication, he became a witness to the Gospel and a model for young people who desire to follow Christ.

And for us? As young people called to live our faith, are we willing to stand for Christ even when it becomes difficult, or do we allow our fears and the opinions of others to keep us from sharing His love?

๐Ÿ’ญ ALBERIONEโ€™S THOUGHTS FOR THIS DAY

โ€œReligious virtues are: More vibrant faith, Stronger hope, More ardent charity.โ€

โ€” Bl. James Alberione, FSP32*, 429

Blessed James Alberione reminds us that our spiritual life must continue to grow. Faith is not simply believing in God; it is trusting Him even when we do not understand everything. Hope allows us to continue despite difficulties, while charity teaches us to love and serve others sincerely. St. Pedro Calungsod lived these virtues through his commitment to the mission and his willingness to remain faithful to Christ.

May his example inspire us to become young people with a stronger faith, a deeper hope, and a more generous love for God and others. May we learn to serve the Lord not only through our words but also through our daily actions, becoming witnesses of Christ wherever He calls us.

St. Pedro Calungsod, pray for us!

Traditionally celebrated every October 19, the memorial of Blessed Timothy serves as an opportunity for the seminarians to deepen their knowledge of his exemplary faith, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to the Pauline mission.

Blessed Timothy was the first priest of the Society of St. Paul, ordained on October 19, 1919. He also served as the Society's first Vicar General. His beatification on October 22, 1989, further highlighted his holiness and enduring witness to the Pauline mission.

For this yearโ€™s celebration, the aspirants were divided into four teams named after notable figures in the Pauline history. James Alberione, Andrea Borello, Canonico Chiesa, and Maggiorino Vigolungo. The questions were grouped into easy, average, and difficult rounds.

The panel of judges included the seminary vice-rector, Rev. Fr. Micha Miguel Competente, SSP, and Rev. Fr. Ronel Soriano, SSP. More than just a moment to compete and aim for scores, the Giaccardo Quiz Bee indeed served as an opportunity for the seminarians to learn more about the life and legacy of Blessed Timothy Giaccardo and his dedication to proclaiming Christ through the means of social communication.

Giaccardo Quiz Bee was made possible through the efforts of the Sociocultural Committee and the active participation of the seminarians, keeping alive the tradition of honoring the first Pauline priest and his contribution to the Society of Saint Paul.

Viva, Blessed Timothy Giaccardo!

MEMORIAL OF STS. JOHN DE BRร‰BEUF, ISAAC JOGUES, PRIESTS, AND COMPANIONS, MARTYRS

October 19

St. John de Brรฉbeuf and St. Isaac Jogues were Jesuit missionaries who brought the Gospel to Indigenous peoples in North America. Together with their companions, they endured great hardships and persecution while serving their mission. Their courage and dedication eventually led them to give their lives for Christ, becoming known as the North American Martyrs.

Their lives remind us that serving God requires more than good intentions. It calls for patience, sacrifice, perseverance, and a willingness to continue even when the mission becomes difficult. They remained faithful to their calling because their love for Christ and the people they served was greater than their fear of suffering.

And for us? Are we willing to grow in our faith and accept the formation needed to serve God faithfully, even when the process challenges us?

๐Ÿ’ญ ALBERIONEโ€™S THOUGHTS FOR THIS DAY

โ€œRecently, I meditated on a letter of 1942 from Father Giaccardo, which said: โ€˜It is not vocations that are lacking, but formation is deficient.โ€™ Pauline spirit.โ€

โ€” Bl. James Alberione, FSP52, 293

Blessed James Alberione reminds us that having a vocation is only the beginning. We must allow ourselves to be formed through prayer, study, discipline, humility, and service. Like the North American Martyrs, we are called to prepare our hearts and strengthen our faith so that we can remain faithful to our mission.

Formation is not simply about gaining knowledge; it is about becoming the kind of person God calls us to be. May we be willing to learn, to be corrected, and to grow every day so that our lives may become a sincere witness to Christ.

Sts. John de Brรฉbeuf, Isaac Jogues, and companions, pray for us!

Tinig at Pananalig is held as the culminating activity for the Music and Instruments subject. It marked the conclusion of 18 classroom sessions dedicated to developing the studentsโ€™ knowledge in music and acquisition of the necessary instrumental skills.

In her opening and welcome remarks, subject area professor Maโ€™am Cristy Arienda, emphasized that the recital was more than just a demonstration of musical skills. Drawing from St. Augustineโ€™s teaching that singing well is praying twice, she reflected on how playing an instrument for the Lord well, can likewise become an avenue for prayer and service. โ€œIt is not merely an artistic performance or a demonstration of skills, but a window to the human heart,โ€ she added.

Featured also in the Tinig at Pananalig, were guitar and organ performances by the seminarians, alongside a classical piano presentation by Judsen Virata, and a violin intermession featuring Cailin Reyes and Jill. Koro de Santo Rosario also enriched the program with their choral performances, complementing the instrumental pieces through sacred music.

Each of the performances became a reflection and testament of what has been learned so far and the skills developed throughout the semester. In the closing intermission number, all recitalists joined hand-in-hand with Koro de Santo Rosario, in a solemn rendition of the Prayer of Rupert Mayer, which brought everyone together in a shared musical offering.

In his closing and thanksgiving remarks, Fr. Norman Melchor Peรฑa Jr., SSP, recalled a lesson from his fourth-grade years when he learned that music is the art of combining tones in a manner that is pleasing to the ears. He then related this definition to his priestly journey, where music is a narrative that accompanies us all through different experiences, including our moments of sadness, anger, loneliness, and love.

Fr. Norman likened each of us to a musical note, distinct in character yet contributing to a greater harmony, that, in a similar way, people become part of one anotherโ€™s journeys. Each leaving a mark on the stories that we shareโ€”the stories that we all belong to.

What a day has it been. True enough, all journeys lead to an end. Tinig at Pananalig did not only serve as a finalsโ€™ requirement, but ultimately, in the bigger picture and the greater scheme of things, it became an offering of faith and the gifts nurtured through patience and practice.

For at the end of the day, as long as we, in the Divine Master remain, our hearts, surely, will find its rest.
