The Saint Paul Seminary Foundation is a unique institution that aims to produce for the service of Christ. A formation house for would-be religious priests and brothers, it is a training ground structured to meet the harsh demands of future-work—the apostolate of social communication. Many of those who have emerged from this training easily stand out as integrated persons, men who are able both bo
dy and spirit. The seminary has its four wheels: community, piety, study and apostolate—that guide and mold its aspirants. It is the sense of camaraderie, or community that leads the seminarians into living together as brothers. Also, the seminarians are taught that the strength could only be found through a constant communion with God. Thus, there is emphasis on everyday schedules of Masses, meditations, visits to the Blessed Sacrament and even monthly recollections and annual retreats. The focus of their fraternal bond is none other that Christ Himself, who directs their minds and hearts to the path He desires for them. Living this faith, they seek Him whether in their personal relationships with God, at work, or in play. Meanwhile, as an academic institution, SPSF ensures that seminarians gain not only knowledge but also the habit to seek it. And nowhere are the fruits of these endeavors better manifested than in work, that is, the apostolate—the lifeblood of the Society that draws its members from this seminary. These are the four wheels which together create holistic future ministers of Christ. As the aspirants journey in formation, they seek to be more and more like Jesus, in the hope that soon they will be “another Christ”—giving all of themselves for all that is Christ in order to save all of mankind. This is what seminarians, and the seminary, is for.
