Samson’s Tragic Condition in the Ministry — Judges 16:20–21

Samson was called by God even before he was born. He was given a special calling and supernatural strength, but his greatest weakness was not his physical strength—it was his character and lack of obedience. He continued serving with strength while becoming spiritually insensitive and allowing his personal desires, pride, and weaknesses to take control. His calling was a gift from God, but his character was his responsibility.

Ministry is not only about talent, ability, or being on the platform. It is also about character, obedience, holiness, discipline, prayer, accountability, and a healthy relationship with God. A person can still sing, preach, lead, or serve while slowly losing spiritual sensitivity. Samson’s tragedy reminds us that being useful in ministry does not automatically mean that our walk with God is healthy.

Sometimes we can become so focused on the ministry that we forget the God we are serving. We may have talent but lack obedience, charisma but lack character, or a platform but lack spiritual sensitivity. Pride, bitterness, unresolved conflicts, and disobedience can slowly weaken us. That is why we need to examine ourselves and ask: How healthy is my walk with God? Am I still sensitive to His presence? Am I obeying Him even when no one is watching?

Samson’s story teaches us that a calling does not excuse a character problem. God gives the calling, but we are responsible for developing our character and remaining faithful to Him. True anointing should lead us toward deeper obedience, holiness, humility, and spiritual growth.

Real faith isn't just about showing up, listening to a sermon, and calling it a day—James 1:22–25 calls us to actually live out what we preach through daily, active obedience. When pride and self-righteousness creep in, we end up blinding ourselves to our own flaws and deceive ourselves into thinking hearing is enough. To actually grow, we need to regularly check ourselves in the mirror of God’s Word, stay intentional, and build a habit of four straightforward steps: look closely into Scripture, stick with it, remember what we learned, and put it into practice every single day.

Sometimes, God answers our prayers in ways we cannot immediately see or understand. Daniel reminds us that prayer is not simply about asking for what we want—it is about coming before God with a humble and prepared heart, continuing to seek Him even when the answer seems delayed. There are battles happening beyond what our eyes can see, but God hears us even before the answer arrives. His presence can humble us, expose what needs to change within us, and remind us to let go of the pain, anger, and mistakes we continue to carry. Even faithful servants of God can feel weak, afraid, or overwhelmed, but those moments do not mean God has abandoned us. Sometimes, the silence is not God ignoring us; it is a reminder to trust, persevere, and keep praying until we understand what He is doing.

God is not simply asking us to give something; He is calling us back to Him. Malachi 3:8–12 reminds us that faithfulness is more than what we bring to the temple—it is about the condition of our hearts and how sincerely we honor God. We can attend church, serve, pray, and say that we have a relationship with Him, yet still be far from Him when our actions do not reflect our faith. Sometimes we focus so much on our own needs that we forget the God who continues to provide for us. The challenge is not only, “How much can I give?” but, “How willing is my heart to trust, obey, sacrifice, and be faithful to God?” Everything we have is entrusted to us by Him, and our generosity, service, worship, and obedience should come from a genuine heart. May we examine ourselves, return to God wholeheartedly, and become faithful not because we are trying to receive something from Him, but because we recognize that He has always been faithful to us.

Sunday Service | Run to Win — Philippians 3:13–14 🏃‍♂️

Today’s message reminded me that following Christ is not just about starting the race, but having the discipline and perseverance to keep going until the end. There will be failures, distractions, struggles, and moments when we feel like slowing down, but we should not let our past define how we finish. Instead of constantly trying to fix other people, we also need to look at ourselves and ask,

“How am I doing with God?”

Our spiritual life needs to keep growing because we cannot expect to finish the race if we are no longer willing to move forward. As Christians, our goal is not simply to look like we are running, but to live a life that reflects Christ and gives Him glory. No matter how slow the progress is, what matters is that we keep moving, keep our faith alive, and continue running toward the purpose God has set before us.

Today’s message about Living by Faith reminded me that faith is not about having a life without problems, but about continuing to trust God even when things get difficult. There are times when we feel tired, discouraged, and even lose hope, but that doesn’t mean we are already defeated. Like what 2 Corinthians 4:8–9 says, we may be pressured, confused, and knocked down, but we are not crushed or destroyed because God continues to give us strength. We are only fragile vessels, but God placed a treasure within us, showing that our value and strength do not come from ourselves but from Him. Sometimes we focus too much on our personal struggles that we forget the One who is greater than our problems. This reminded me to ask myself, “Is my faith moving forward or backward?” No matter how weak we feel, God can still use us, and if He has called us to do something, we should remain faithful and fulfill it. We have already been redeemed by God, so instead of giving up, we should keep walking, keep believing, and keep serving Him.

Being committed to Christ means choosing to remain faithful even when serving Him becomes difficult or inconvenient. Life will always give us reasons to step back—bad circumstances, tiredness, personal struggles, or things that simply do not go as planned—but these should not define our commitment to God. If we truly value our relationship with Him, it should be seen not only in what we say but also in how we live, how we treat others, and how willing we are to continue serving despite the challenges.

We are called to carry that commitment wherever we go, showing patience, kindness, and genuine love to the people around us. Our faith becomes more meaningful when it is lived out, especially during the moments when staying committed is not easy.

LESSON ABOUT PRAYER (ARAL TUNKOL SA PANANALANGIN)

The lesson about prayer highlights that prayer is not simply about asking God for something and expecting an answer. One of the things that can hinder a person’s prayer is the condition of their heart.

A person may attend church every Sunday, join prayer meetings, and regularly call on God, yet still hold on to anger, envy, unforgiveness, dishonesty, pride, or bitterness. What remains in the heart eventually reveals itself through a person’s words, thoughts, actions, and treatment of others. Attending church alone does not automatically make someone’s heart clean, especially when they return to the same harmful habits after leaving.

True transformation begins when a person allows God’s Word to take root in their heart and chooses to apply it in everyday life. When His Word genuinely lives within someone, it should be reflected in how they speak, forgive, think, make decisions, and treat the people around them. Prayer, then, is not only about asking God to change circumstances; it is also about having the humility to let Him change the person who is praying.

A sincere prayer begins with a heart that is willing to be examined, corrected, and transformed.

OUR ATTITUDE TOWARDS GOD

The way we approach God matters. We should not come to Him only when we need something, but also with a heart that is grateful for everything He has done in our lives. Giving is the secret to being blessed.

That is why as believers, or followers of Christ we should:
1. Enter His gate with thanksgiving
2. Enter His courts with praise
