‘Handang Sumunod sa mga Yapak ni Hesus’
DYSC 2026, Mercedes, Silago, Southern Leyte

The Diocesan Youth Summer Camp 2026 held at Mercedes, Silago, Southern Leyte was truly a meaningful and unforgettable experience for all of us from the Parish of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sto. Rosario. The camp was not only full of fun, excitement, and new friendships, but it also became a source of knowledge, inspiration, and spiritual growth for every youth who participated.

As we reflect on the different activities, teachings, and moments we shared together, we carry with us valuable life lessons that strengthened our faith, discipline, unity, and dedication in serving God and the Filipino people. This event reminded us that being part of the youth ministry is not only about participation, but also about becoming instruments of hope, leadership, and service in our community and in the Church.

We are also very thankful and grateful to all the people who supported us and gave their donations during our solicitation. Without their generosity, we would not have experienced and enjoyed this wonderful summer camp. Their kindness and support became a great blessing to all of us, and we truly appreciate the trust and love they have shown to our youth ministry.

Indeed, the Diocesan Youth Summer Camp 2026 has left a lasting impact in our hearts, inspiring us to continue living with faith, purpose, and commitment as young servants of God.

The YIFI Parish of the Blessed Virgin Mary successfully conducted its annual Youth Fellowship and Retreat this Lenten season during Holy Saturday.

In relation to Holy Saturday, the theme, “In the Silence, God is Working; Be still and know that I am GOD,” reflects the moment after Jesus was crucified on Good Friday. Saturday became a day of silence—the day when Jesus seemed absent. Yet, that silence did not mean He was gone, but that He was preparing for His resurrection on Easter Sunday.

The fellowship started with morning prayers, followed by Input 1: Introduction to the Bible, discussed by Rev. Fr. Arthur Senoc Jr., and engaging activities that allowed the youth to reflect and share their insights and commitments based on the theme.

On the night of Holy Saturday, the youth entered a deeper encounter with God through the retreat entitled “The Mirror”, led by Bryle Octobre. The retreat was a journey in three parts. First, 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙈𝙞𝙧𝙧𝙤𝙧—where we reflected on how we see ourselves versus how God truly sees us. While the world often shows our insecurities, flaws, and imperfections, God sees us as fearfully and wonderfully made, loved, and created with purpose.

Second, 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙙 𝙈𝙞𝙧𝙧𝙤𝙧—where we acknowledged the broken parts of ourselves: our sins, wounds, guilt, shame, rejection, and pain. These “cracks” may distort how we see our worth, but we were reminded that God does not reject what is broken. Instead, He meets us in our brokenness and heals us with His love.

Lastly, 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙚𝙙 𝙈𝙞𝙧𝙧𝙤𝙧—a reminder that through God’s grace, healing, and forgiveness, our lives can be restored. As our hearts are cleansed, we are called to reflect His light through authenticity, gratitude, and love.

One of the most powerful moments of the retreat was when each youth faced their own “mirror” and shared their cracks. No matter how small they seemed, a crack is still a crack. Tears were shed, but so was laughter—reminding us that we are not alone in our struggles.

One thing we learned: we all carry our own mirrors and their cracks. Who are we to judge others when we also have our own?

God does not throw broken things away—He heals them, restores them, and makes them beautiful again🪞🤍

Youth Convention 2026 at Limasawa Island!

The event highlighted the most important part of being in a youth organization and that is handling issues and reporting achievements. It has come to our sense that having problems is normal and facing them makes our organization stronger.

The gathering opened with a solemn Holy Mass, grounding the youth in the message of the Gospel from Mark 10:42–45: Jesus came not to be served but to serve. 𝘐𝘯 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘢𝘤𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴, 𝘩𝘶𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘢𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘦, 𝘸𝘦 𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘰 𝘏𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘶𝘳𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘦 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦.

The program continued with an insightful session on spiritual wellness delivered by Rev. Fr. Arthur Senoc Jr. , who emphasized the enduring importance of nurturing a deep and personal relationship with God. This was followed by a meaningful presentation on the History of YIFI by Bro. Richmark Dumaray, tracing the organization’s roots back to the passionate efforts of the founding youth who paved the way for today’s ministry.

A dynamic team-building activity then engaged participants, highlighting the essential values of camaraderie, unity, cooperation, and communication—virtues that sustain the life and mission of the organization. The moment flowed into a heartfelt Commitment Rite, where the youth wrote their pledges for God, Church, Family, Community, and Self. These were offered in prayer and reverently burned before the altar as a symbol of surrender and dedication.

The fellowship concluded in prayer, led once more by Rev. Fr. Arthur Senoc, sealing the day with gratitude, reflection, and renewed purpose.

🇵🇭 127th Philippine Independence Day🇵🇭

As youth of the Iglesia Filipina Independiente, we honor our ancestors' courage and sacrifice that won us freedom 127 years ago. 💥✊

But true independence goes beyond flags and parades — it's fighting for justice, equality, peace, and dignity for all. As a nationalist and faithful generation, we rise to continue that struggle.

Let us be the youth who serve, speak truth, and stand with the people.

Mabuhay ang kabataang Pilipino! Mabuhay ang IFI! Mabuhay ang malayang Pilipinas!
