Ma********on is like being bitten by a Komodo dragon.
A Komodo dragon does not rush to kill its prey.
Its mouth carries toxic saliva. One bite is enough.
The animal runs, thinking it escaped.
But the poison is already working.
The dragon follows from a distance, not in panic, but with patience.
As the poison spreads, the prey grows weaker.
Movement slows. Strength fades. Resistance diminishes.
Eventually, the animal can no longer move.
That is when the dragon comes to feast, while the prey is still alive.
Sexual immorality works the same way.
Each time you give in, something in you weakens.
Your prayers become quieter.
Your hunger for God lessens.
What once convicted you now barely stirs you.
The enemy does not need to destroy you immediately.
He only needs to poison your devotion.
He follows your patterns.
He studies your moments of isolation.
He waits for spiritual fatigue.
And when strength is gone, he begins to feed, not on your body, but on your joy, your clarity, your authority, and your intimacy with God.
You are still breathing, still functioning, but slowly watching yourself decay on the inside.
Scripture warns us,
“He that breaks the hedge, the serpent shall bite him.” (Ecclesiastes 10:8)
Yet Scripture also gives hope,
“When the enemy came to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.” (Psalm 27:2)
This is the turning point.
If you have been bitten, do not keep running.
Run to God.
The antidote is not willpower alone.
It is repentance.
Prayer.
Fasting.
Renewing the mind.
And total surrender to Jesus Christ.
God does not abandon the wounded.
He heals what has been poisoned.
He restores strength where weakness has settled.
You do not have to die slowly. Freedom is still available in Jesus Christ!
