THE PARISH HOUSE IS FOR PRIESTS ALONE
_______________________

The parish house is the private residence of the priests, not a space for parishioners to frequent or use for any reason. It is not a gathering spot, an extension of the church, or a place for casual visits. This house exists solely to provide the priests with a home where they can live, pray, and rest without unnecessary interruptions. Just as every person values the sanctity of their home, priests also deserve the same respect for their living space.

The church and its immediate surroundings are the proper areas for parishioners to carry out their activities. Anything beyond this crosses boundaries that should not be ignored. When parishioners overstep into the parish house, it risks creating misunderstandings, improper relationships, and even serious accusations that could harm the integrity of the priesthood and the Church itself.

The bitter truth is this: failing to respect the boundaries of the parish house can lead to situations that damage trust, cause scandal, and disrupt the peace of the parish community. It is not a question of hospitality but one of protecting the dignity of the priestly vocation and ensuring a clear separation between the roles of clergy and laity.

Let us face this truth honestly. The parish house is not for parishioners, it is the priests’ home, and it must remain that way. Respecting this boundary is not optional; it is a responsibility that every parishioner must uphold. By doing so, we allow our priests to focus on their mission without unnecessary distractions or risks, preserving the sanctity of their lives and the unity of the Church.

God bless you!
