Topic: I WILL NOT OFFER THE LORD THAT COSTS ME NOTHING📈
Text: 2 Samuel 24:18-24 📖

🌼King David sinned by taking a census, bringing judgement upon Israel.
🌼The stand: David refuses free charity for worship, insisting on paying full price because true sacrifice requires personal cost.
🌼The big idea: Genuine worship and service to God cannot be measure by what is convenient or cheep, it costs us something.

1. True worship rejects convenience. It is easy to offer God our spare time or left over resources. David understands that a gift without sacrifice is just a convenience
2. True worship reflects the heart. What we give to God shows how much we value Him. Giving our best, our time, talents and finances prove that God is first in our lives, not an afterthought. Jesus Christ gave His life on a cress, His sacrifice did not cost Him nothing, it costs Him everything.
3. True worship points to the ultimate sacrifice.
🌸Reflection: Let’s resolve to serve a great God with a dedicated, costly and wholeheartedly surrender.

1. Jesus is watching the giver. To see how people worshipped as they gave. Jesus sees what we do with our money.
2. The contrast of two gifts. Many rich people put in large amount, it is easy to give if we have plenty left over. A poor widow gives two small mites, it is all she has. The world measures by the size of the gift, Jesus measures by the sacrifice behind the gift.
🌸Reflection: True generosity is not about what is left in our hands, but what is left in our hearts for God.

1. Living. Not just like O.T. animals you walk talk, and serve after you give it.
2. Holy. Set part, not for sin, not for the world, but for God only.
3. Acceptable. Pleasing to God, your body, your time, money, mouth, hands, phone, job.
4. Be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Conformed- formed into the world’s mold. Transformed- changed from the inside out like a caterpillar to butterfly. You cant know God’s will with a worldly mind.
🌸Reflection: What is my service to God currently costing me? Am I holding back the very thing He is asking me to lay on the altar?
