Green is the color of growth, hope, and life β€” the liturgical color of Ordinary Time. In this season of the Church, we are reminded that holiness is found not only in great celebrations, but also in the quiet faithfulness of everyday life.

Ordinary Time invites us to continue walking with Christ through our daily prayers, simple acts of love, and steadfast service. Like the living green of nature, may our faith continue to grow, deepen, and bear fruit in every season of our lives.

When my father was diagnosed with a severe tumor, treatments left him so sick he wanted to stop. My mother and I prayed to Padre Pio, asking for healing or peace if it was his time. My father had a dream the night before his next appointment in which Padre Pio's figure appeared where the tumor had been. He felt at ease when he woke up, and a few days later we learned the amazing news that he was cancer-free. Now, my parents plan to visit Padre Pio’s monastery in gratitude for this miracle.

Today, we celebrate the Memorial of Saint Philip Neri β€” the joyful saint who taught the world that holiness is found not only in prayer and sacrifice, but also in humility, kindness, and a heart filled with love for God.

Known as the β€œApostle of Rome,” Saint Philip Neri dedicated his life to bringing souls closer to Christ through compassion, joyful service, and sincere friendship. His life reminds us that true holiness is not distant or unreachable, but is lived daily through charity, simplicity, and genuine joy in the Lord.

May we learn from his example to trust more deeply in the Lord, to serve with compassion, and to spread joy wherever we are called. May our lives reflect the same warmth, kindness, and faith that made Saint Philip Neri a light to so many souls.
