‎Catholic Mass Readings for Pentecost Sunday at the Vigil Mass 2026 – May 24 2026

‎1st Reading – Genesis 11:1-9
‎ At first, the people of the whole world had only one language and used the same words. As they wandered about in the East, they came to a plain in Babylonia and settled there.They said to one another, “Come on! Let’s make bricks and bake them hard.” So they had bricks to build with and tar to hold them together. They said, “Now let’s build a city with a tower that reaches the sky, so that we can make a name for ourselves and not be scattered all over the earth.” Then the LORD came down to see the city and the tower which those men had built, and he said, “Now then, these are all one people and they speak one language; this is just the beginning of what they are going to do. Soon they will be able to do anything they want! Let us go down and mix up their language so that they will not understand one another.” So the LORD scattered them all over the earth, and they stopped building the city. The city was called Babylon, because there the LORD mixed up the language of all the people, and from there he scattered them all over the earth.
‎–The Word of the Lord.

‎Responsorial Psalm – Psalms 104:1-2, 24 AND 35, 27-28, 29-30
‎R. Lord, send out your Spirit, and renew the face of the earth.
‎or:
‎R. Alleluia.

‎Bless the LORD, O my soul!
‎O LORD, my God, you are great indeed!
‎ You are clothed with majesty and glory,
‎robed in light as with a cloak.
‎R. Lord, send out your Spirit, and renew the face of the earth.
‎or:
‎R. Alleluia.

‎ How manifold are your works, O LORD!
‎In wisdom you have wrought them all
‎the earth is full of your creatures;
‎ bless the LORD, O my soul! Alleluia.
‎R. Lord, send out your Spirit, and renew the face of the earth.
‎or:
‎R. Alleluia.

‎ Creatures all look to you
‎to give them food in due time.
‎ When you give it to them, they gather it;
‎when you open your hand, they are filled with good things.
‎R. Lord, send out your Spirit, and renew the face of the earth.
‎or:
‎R. Alleluia.

‎ If you take away their breath, they perish
‎and return to their dust.
‎ When you send forth your spirit, they are created,
‎and you renew the face of the earth.
‎R. Lord, send out your Spirit, and renew the face of the earth.
‎or:
‎R. Alleluia.

‎2nd Reading – Romans 8:22-27
‎Brothers and sisters:
‎ For we know that up to the present time all of creation groans with pain, like the pain of childbirth. But it is not just creation alone which groans; we who have the Spirit as the first of God’s gifts also groan within ourselves, as we wait for God to make us his children and set our whole being free.
‎For it was by hope that we were saved; but if we see what we hope for, then it is not really hope. For which of us hopes for something we see? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience. In the same way the Spirit also comes to help us, weak as we are. For we do not know how we ought to pray; the Spirit himself pleads with God for us in groans that words cannot express. And God, who sees into our hearts, knows what the thought of the Spirit is; because the Spirit pleads with God on behalf of his people and in accordance with his will.
‎–The Word of the Lord.

‎Holy Gospel According to Saint John 7:37-39
On the last and most important day of the festival Jesus stood up and said in a loud voice, “Whoever is thirsty should come to me, and whoever believes in me should drink. As the scripture says, ‘Streams of life-giving water will pour out from his side.’ “ Jesus said this about the Spirit, which those who believed in him were going to receive. At that time the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not been raised to glory.

‎Ascension of the Lord Solemnity (Seventh Sunday of Easter)

‎1st Reading: Acts 1: 1-11
‎The former treatise I made, O Theophilus, of all things which Jesus began to do and to teach, until the day on which, giving commandments by the Holy Ghost to the apostles whom he had chosen, he was taken up. To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion, by many proofs, for forty days appearing to them, and speaking of the kingdom of God. And eating together with them, he commanded them, that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but should wait for the promise of the Father, which you have heard (saith he) by my mouth. For John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost, not many days hence. They therefore who were come together, asked him, saying: Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? But he said to them: It is not for you to know the times or moments, which the Father hath put in his own power: But you shall receive the power of the Holy Ghost coming upon you, and you shall be witnesses unto me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and even to the uttermost part of the earth. And when he had said these things, while they looked on, he was raised up: and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they were beholding him going up to heaven, behold two men stood by them in white garments. Who also said: Ye men of Galilee, why stand you looking up to heaven? This Jesus who is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come, as you have seen him going into heaven.
‎–The Word of the Lord.

‎Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 47: 2-3, 6-7, 8-9
‎R. God mounts his throne to shouts of joy: a blare of trumpets for the Lord.
‎or
‎R. Alleluia.

‎O clap your hands, all ye nations: shout unto God with the voice of Joy,
‎For the Lord is high, terrible: a great king over all the earth.

‎R. God mounts his throne to shouts of joy: a blare of trumpets for the Lord.
‎or
‎R. Alleluia.

‎God is ascended with jubilee, and the Lord with the sound of trumpet.
‎Sing praises to our God, sing ye: sing praises to our king, sing ye.

‎R. God mounts his throne to shouts of joy: a blare of trumpets for the Lord.
‎or
‎R. Alleluia.

‎For God is the king of all the earth: sing ye wisely.
‎God shall reign over the nations: God sitteth on his holy throne.

‎R. God mounts his throne to shouts of joy: a blare of trumpets for the Lord.
‎or
‎R. Alleluia.

‎2nd Reading: Ephesians 1: 17-23
‎That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and of revelation, in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your heart enlightened, that you may know what the hope is of the glory of his inheritance in the saints. And what is the exceeding greatness of his power towards us, who believe according to the operation of the might of his power, Which he wrought in Christ, raising him up from the dead, and setting him on his right hand in the heavenly places. Above all principality, and power, and virtue, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come. And he hath subjected all things under his feet, and hath made him head over all the church, Which is his body, and the fulness of him who is filled all in all.
‎–The Word of the Lord.

‎Gospel: Matthew 28: 16-20
‎And the eleven disciples went into Galilee, unto the mountain where Jesus had appointed them. And seeing him they adored: but some doubted. And Jesus coming, spoke to them, saying: All power is given to me in heaven and in earth. Going therefore, teach ye all nations; baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world.

‎Catholic Sunday Mass Readings for May 10 2026, Sixth Sunday of Easter, Year A

‎1st Reading – ACTS 8:5-8, 14-17
‎ Philip going down to the city of Samaria, preached Christ unto them. And the people, with one accord, were attentive to those things which Philip said, hearing, and seeing the miracles which he did. And many unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, went out of many people who had them. And many people who were paralyzed, and that were lame, were healed. There was therefore great joy in that city. Now when the apostles, who were in Jerusalem, had heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John. Who, when they came, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Spirit. For he was not as yet come upon any of them; but they were only baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they laid their hands upon them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
‎–The Word of the Lord.

‎Responsorial Psalm – Psalms 66:1-3, 4-5, 6-7, 16, 20
‎R. Let all the earth cry out to God with joy.
‎or:
‎R. Alleluia.

‎ Shout joyfully to God, all the earth,
‎sing praise to the glory of his name;
‎proclaim his glorious praise.
‎ Say to God, “How tremendous are your deeds!”
‎R. Let all the earth cry out to God with joy.
‎or:
‎R. Alleluia.

‎“Let all on earth worship and sing praise to you,
‎sing praise to your name!”
‎ Come and see the works of God,
‎his tremendous deeds among the children of Adam.
‎R. Let all the earth cry out to God with joy.
‎or:
‎R. Alleluia.

‎ He has changed the sea into dry land;
‎through the river they passed on foot;
‎therefore let us rejoice in him.
‎ He rules by his might forever.
‎R. Let all the earth cry out to God with joy.
‎or:
‎R. Alleluia.

‎ Hear now, all you who fear God, while I declare
‎what he has done for me.
‎ Blessed be God who refused me not
‎my prayer or his kindness!
‎R. Let all the earth cry out to God with joy.
‎or:
‎R. Alleluia.

‎2nd Reading – 1 Peter 3:15-18
‎ Beloved: But sanctify the Lord Christ in your hearts, being ready always to satisfy everyone that asks you a reason of that hope which is in you. But do it with gentleness and reverence, keeping your conscience clear, so that, when you are maligned, those who defame your good conduct in Christ may themselves be put to shame. For it is better doing well (if such be the will of God) to suffer, than doing ill. Because Christ also died once for our sins, the just for the unjust: that he might offer us to God, being put to death indeed in the flesh, but enlivened in the spirit.
‎–The Word of the Lord.

‎Holy Gospel According to Saint John 14:15-21
Jesus said to his disciples: If you love me, keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he shall give you another Paraclete, that he may abide with you forever. The spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive because it sees him not, nor knows him: but you shall know him; because he shall abide with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you orphans, I will come to you. Yet a little while: and the world sees me no more. But you see me: because I live, and you shall live. In that day you shall know, that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. He that has my commandments, and keeps them; it is he that loves me. And he that loves me, shall be loved of my Father: and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

A meaningful and inspiring day dedicated to growth, awareness, and community.

Yesterday, May 2, 2026, seventeen (17) committed Youth Ministers from Sto. Niño de Faire Parish participated in the Vicarial Youth Mental Health Wellness Encounter held at Holy Guardian Angels Parish in Tuao, Cagayan. Together with other ministries from different parishes within the Vicariate of Our Lady of Piat, the participants gathered in a safe and enriching space to deepen their understanding of mental health, reflect on their personal well-being, and strengthen their capacity to support others in their ministry.

Through engaging discussions, shared experiences, and moments of reflection, the youth ministers were reminded of the importance of caring not only for others but also for themselves. It was truly a day filled with learning, encouragement, and renewed purpose—empowering them to become more compassionate, mindful, and resilient servants of the Church.

This meaningful participation would not have been possible without the generous support of Hon. Andrew Vincent Roxas Pagurayan, who provided transportation and graciously shouldered the registration fees of the participants. His kindness and commitment to the youth and their well-being are deeply appreciated.

May this encounter continue to inspire our young ministers to promote mental health awareness and bring hope, understanding, and positivity to their communities and the Church.

‎Catholic Sunday Mass Readings for May 3 2026: Fifth Sunday of Easter, Year A – Lectionary: 52

‎1st Reading – Acts 6:1-7
‎And in those days, the number of the disciples increasing, there arose a murmuring of the Greeks against the Hebrews, for that their widows were neglected in the daily distribution. Then the twelve calling together the multitude of the disciples, said, “It is not right for us to neglect the word of God to serve at table. Therefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word. And the saying was liked by all the multitude. And they chose Stephen, a man full of faith, and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas, a proselyte of Antioch. These they set before the apostles; and they praying, imposed hands upon them. And the word of the Lord increased; and the number of the disciples was multiplied in Jerusalem exceedingly: a great multitude also of the priests obeyed the faith.
‎–The Word of the Lord.

‎Responsorial Psalm – Psalms 33:1-2, 4-5, 18-19
‎R. Lord, let your mercy be on us, as we place our trust in you.
‎or:
‎R. Alleluia.

‎Exult, you just, in the LORD;
‎praise from the upright is fitting.
‎Give thanks to the LORD on the harp;
‎with the ten-stringed lyre chant his praises.
‎R. Lord, let your mercy be on us, as we place our trust in you.
‎or:
‎R. Alleluia.

‎Upright is the word of the LORD,
‎and all his works are trustworthy.
‎He loves justice and right;
‎of the kindness of the LORD the earth is full.
‎R. Lord, let your mercy be on us, as we place our trust in you.
‎or:
‎R. Alleluia.

‎See, the eyes of the LORD are upon those who fear him,
‎upon those who hope for his kindness,
‎To deliver them from death
‎and preserve them in spite of famine.
‎R. Lord, let your mercy be on us, as we place our trust in you.
‎or:
‎R. Alleluia.

‎2nd Reading – 1 Peter 2:4-9
‎Beloved: Unto whom coming, as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen and made honourable by God: and, like living stones, let yourselves be built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For it is said in the scripture: Behold, I lay in Zion a chief corner stone, elect, precious. And he that shall believe in him, shall not be confounded. To you therefore that believe, he is honour: but to them that believe not, the stone which the builders rejected, the same is made the head of the corner: And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of scandal, to them who stumble at the word, neither do believe, whereunto also they are set. But you are a chosen generation, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a purchased people: that you may declare his virtues, who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
‎–The Word of the Lord.

‎Gospel According to Saint John 14:1-12

‎Jesus said to his disciples: Let not your heart be troubled. You believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house there are many mansions. If not, I would have told you: because I go to prepare a place for you. And if I shall go, and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and will take you to myself; that where I am, you also may be. And where I go you know, and the way you know. Thomas said to him: Lord, we know not where you go; and how can we know the way? Jesus said to him: I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father, but by me. Jesus said to his disciples: If you had known me, you would without doubt have known my Father also: and from henceforth you shall know him, and you have seen him. Philip said to him: Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us. Jesus saith to him: Have I been so long a time with you; and have you not known me? Philip, he that sees me sees the Father also. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe, that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak to you, I speak not of myself. But the Father who abides in me, he does the works. Believe you not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? Otherwise believe for the very works’ sake. Amen, amen I say to you, he that believes in me, the works that I do, he also shall do; and greater than these shall he do. Because I go to the Father:

‎Catholic Sunday Mass Readings for April 26 2026, Fourth Sunday of Easter, Year A – Lectionary: 49

‎1st Reading – Acts 2:14A, 36-41
‎ But Peter standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and spoke to them: Therefore let all the house of Israel know most certainly, that God has made both Lord and Christ, this same Jesus, whom you have crucified. Now when they had heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter, and to the rest of the apostles: What shall we do, men and brethren? But Peter said to them: Do penance, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of your sins: and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all that are far off, whomsoever the Lord our God shall call. And with very many other words did he testify and exhort them, saying: Save yourselves from this perverse generation. They therefore that received his word, were baptized; and there were added in that day about three thousand souls.
‎–The Word of the Lord.

‎Responsorial Psalm – Psalms 23: 1-3a, 3b, 4, 5, 6
‎R. The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.
‎or:
‎R. Alleluia.

‎The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
‎In verdant pastures he gives me repose;
‎beside restful waters he leads me;
‎he refreshes my soul.
‎R. The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.
‎or:
‎R. Alleluia.

‎He guides me in right paths
‎for his name’s sake.
‎ Even though I walk in the dark valley
‎I fear no evil; for you are at my side.
‎With your rod and your staff
‎that give me courage.
‎R. The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.
‎or:
‎R. Alleluia.

‎You spread the table before me
‎in the sight of my foes;
‎you anoint my head with oil;
‎my cup overflows.
‎R. The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.
‎or:
‎R. Alleluia.

Only goodness and kindness follow me
‎all the days of my life;
‎and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD
‎for years to come.
‎R. The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.
‎or:
‎R. Alleluia.

‎2nd Reading – 1 Peter 2:20B-25
‎ Beloved: If you are patient when you suffer for doing what is good, this is a grace before God. For unto this are you called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving you an example that you should follow his steps. Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth. Who, when he was reviled, did not revile: when he suffered, he threatened not: but delivered himself to him that judged him unjustly. Who his own self bore our sins in his body upon the tree: that we, being dead to sins, should live to justice: by whose stripes you were healed. For you were as sheep going astray; but you are now converted to the shepherd and bishop of your souls.
‎–The Word of the Lord.

‎Holy Gospel According to Saint John 10:1-10
Jesus said: “Amen, amen I say to you: He that enters not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbs up another way, the same is a thief and a robber. But he that enters in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the gatekeeper opens; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out. And when he has let out his own sheep, he goes before them: and the sheep follow him, because they know his voice. But a stranger they follow not, but fly from him, because they know not the voice of strangers. This proverb Jesus spoke to them. But they understood not what he spoke to them. Jesus, therefore, said to them again: Amen, amen I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All others, as many as have come, are thieves and robbers: and the sheep heard them not. I am the door. By me, if any man enter in, he shall be saved: and he shall go in, and go out, and shall find pastures. The thief comes not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I am come that they may have life, and may have it more abundantly.

“𝙄𝙜𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙗𝙮 𝙁𝙖𝙞𝙩𝙝, 𝙀𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙙.”

The Youth Leadership Formation 2026 brought together young leaders committed to growing in faith and service. It was a day of learning, reflection, and empowerment—reminding everyone that true leadership begins with a heart willing to serve.

More than just an event, it became a space for connection and inspiration. Participants were encouraged to lead with purpose, guided by Christ, and to take active roles in their ministries and communities.

Our heartfelt gratitude to our Resource Speakers, Ms. Pauline Andrea Q. Lingan and Mr. Marc Irvin D. Viernes for sharing their time, wisdom, and experiences. We also extend our sincere thanks to our Reverend Fathers—Rev. Fr. Eustaquio Jaime Aggabao and Rev. Fr. Fernando Caurel—as well as to the Parish Youth Council, facilitators, and everyone who made this event possible.

Indeed, when faith ignites the heart, leadership becomes a mission. May this experience continue to inspire our youth to serve with humility, dedication, and love for God.

‎Catholic Sunday Mass Readings for April 19 2026: Third Sunday of Easter – Lectionary: 46

‎1st Reading – Acts 2:14, 22-33
‎But Peter standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and spoke to them: “You who are Jews, indeed all of you staying in Jerusalem. Let this be known to you, and listen to my words. Ye men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you, by miracles, and wonders, and signs, which God did by him, in the midst of you, as you also know: This same being delivered up, by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, you by the hands of wicked men have crucified and slain. Whom God has raised up, having loosed the sorrows of hell, as it was impossible that he should be holden by it. For David said concerning him: I foresaw the Lord before my face: because he is at my right hand, that I may not be moved. For this my heart has been glad, and any tongue has rejoiced: moreover my flesh also shall rest in hope. Because you will not leave my soul in hell, nor suffer thy Holy One to see corruption. You have made known to me the ways of life: you shall make me full of joy with thy countenance. Ye men, brethren, let me freely speak to you of the patriarch David; that he died, and was buried; and his tomb is with us to this present day. Whereas therefore he was a prophet, and knew that God has sworn to him with an oath, that of the fruit of his loins one should sit upon his throne. Foreseeing this, he spoke of the resurrection of Christ. For neither was he left in hell, neither did his flesh see corruption. This Jesus has God raised again, whereof all we are witnesses. Being exalted therefore by the right hand of God, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he has poured forth this which you see and hear.
‎–The Word of the Lord.

‎Responsorial Psalm – Psalms 16:1-2, 5, 7-8, 9-10, 11
‎R. Lord, you will show us the path of life.
‎or:
‎R. Alleluia.

‎Keep me, O God, for in you I take refuge;
‎I say to the LORD, “My Lord are you.”
‎O LORD, my allotted portion and my cup,
‎you it is who hold fast my lot.
‎R. Lord, you will show us the path of life.
‎or:
‎R. Alleluia.

‎I bless the LORD who counsels me;
‎even in the night my heart exhorts me.
‎I set the LORD ever before me;
‎with him at my right hand I shall not be disturbed.
‎R. Lord, you will show us the path of life.
‎or:
‎R. Alleluia.

‎Therefore my heart is glad and my soul rejoices,
‎my body, too, abides in confidence;
‎because you will not abandon my soul to the netherworld,
‎nor will you suffer your faithful one to undergo corruption.
‎R. Lord, you will show us the path of life.
‎or:

‎You will show me the path to life,
‎abounding joy in your presence,

‎R. Lord, you will show us the path of life.

‎2nd Reading – 1 Peter 1:17-21
‎Beloved: if you invoke as Father him who, without respect of persons, judges according to everyone’s work: converse in fear during the time of your sojourning here. Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things as gold or silver, from your vain conversation of the tradition of your fathers: But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb unspotted and undefiled, Foreknown indeed before the foundation of the world, but manifested in the last times for you, Who through him are faithful in God, who raised him up from the dead, and has given him glory, that your faith and hope might be in God.
‎–The Word of the Lord.

‎Holy Gospel According to Saint Luke 24:13-35
‎And behold, two of Jesus’ disciples went, the same day, to a town which was seven miles from Jerusalem, named Emmaus. And they talked together of all these things which had happened. And it came to pass, that while they talked and reasoned with themselves, Jesus himself also drawing near, went with them. But their eyes were held, that they should not know him. And he said to them: What are these discourses that you hold one with another as you walk, and are sad? And the one of them, whose name was Cleophas, answering, said to him: Art thou only a stranger to Jerusalem, and has not known the things that have been done there in these days? To whom he said: What things? And they said: Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a prophet, mighty in work and word before God and all the people; And how our chief priests and princes delivered him to be condemned to death, and crucified him. But we hoped, that it was he that should have redeemed Israel: and now besides all this, to day is the third day since these things were done. Some women from our group, however, have astounded us: they were at the tomb early in the morning And not finding his body, came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, who say that he is alive. And some of our people went to the tomb, and found it so as the women had said, but him they found not. Then he said to them: O foolish, and slow of heart to believe in all things which the prophets have spoken. Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and so to enter into his glory? And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded to them in all the scriptures, the things that were concerning him. And they drew night to the town, where they were going: and he made as though he would go farther. But they constrained him; saying: Stay with us, because it is towards evening, and the day is now far spent. And he went in with them. And it happened that, while he was with them at table, he took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them. And their eyes were opened, and they knew him: and he vanished out of their sight. And they said one to the other: Was not our heart burning within us, whilst he spoke in this way, and opened to us the scriptures? And rising up, the same hour, they went back to Jerusalem: and they found the eleven gathered together, and those that were staying with them, Saying: The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon. And they told what things were done in the way; and how they knew him in the breaking of the bread.

‎Catholic Sunday Mass Readings for April 12 2026: Divine Mercy Sunday – Lectionary: 43

‎1st Reading – Acts 2:42-47
‎And they were persevering in the doctrine of the apostles, and in the communication of the breaking of bread, and in prayers. And fear came upon every soul: many wonders also and signs were done by the apostles in Jerusalem, and there was great fear in all. And all they that believed, were together, and had all things common. Their possessions and goods they sold, and divided them to all, according as every one had need. And continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they took their meat with gladness and simplicity of heart; Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord increased daily together such as should be saved.

‎2nd Reading – 1 Peter 1:3-9
‎Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy has regenerated us unto a lively hope, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, Unto an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that can not fade, reserved in heaven for you, Who, by the power of God, are kept by faith unto salvation, ready to be revealed in the last time. Wherein you shall greatly rejoice, if now you must be for a little time made sorrowful in divers temptations: That the trial of your faith (much more precious than gold which is tried by the fire) may be found unto praise and glory and honour at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, you love: in whom also now, though you see him not, you believe: and believing shall rejoice with joy unspeakable and glorified;Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

‎Holy Gospel According to Saint John 20:19-31
‎Now when it was late that same day, the first of the week, and the doors were shut, where the disciples were gathered together, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them: Peace be to you. And when he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples therefore were glad, when they saw the Lord. He said therefore to them again: Peace be to you. As the Father has sent me, I also send you. When he had said this, he breathed on them; and he said to them: Receive ye the Holy Ghost.Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained. Now Thomas, one of the twelve, who is called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. The other disciples, therefore, said to him: We have seen the Lord. But he said to them: Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the place of the nails, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe. And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them. Jesus cometh, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said: Peace be to you Then he said to Thomas: Put in thy finger hither, and see my hands; and bring hither thy hand, and put it into my side; and be not faithless, but believing. Thomas answered and said to him: My Lord, and my God. Jesus said to him: Because you have seen me, Thomas, you have believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and have believed. Now Jesus did many other signs in the sight of his disciples, which are not written in this book. But these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God: and that believing, you may have life in his name.
