HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SAINT CARLO ACUTIS!

Saint Carlo Acutis died on October 12, 2006 from leukemia, but he was loved for his strong faith and kindness, especially in the digital world where he used his skills to share God's message. He was supposed to be made a saint by Pope Francis on April 27, 2025. Sadly, days before the ceremony, Pope Francis passed away unexpectedly.

This made many people sad because they wanted Carlo to be officially recognized as a saint by the Pope. Even though the ceremony have not happened, many believe that Carlo’s good example and faith will still inspire others, especially in the digital world, and his sainthood may be recognized in the future.

But September 7, 2025, Blessed Carlo Acutis has been officially canonized by Pope Leo XIV , during the Jubilee of Youth in St. Peter’s Square. He was canonized alongside Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati to represent modern holiness for young people.

OFFICIAL PRAYER TO SAINT CARLO ACUTIS

Carlo, smile of heaven for this wounded and peaceless world, we praise God for your simple, joyful and holy life. You accepted with trust to be stripped of your youth to dedicate yourself in heaven, with Jesus and Mary, to a mission of boundless love. Resting with your mortal body where Francis of Assisi stripped himself of every earthly good, you cry out with him to the world that Jesus is all our joy.

Young man, full of dreams, attracted by nature, by sports, by the internet, but even more enraptured by the miracle of Jesus truly present in the Sacred Host, help us to believe that He is there alive and true, the mystical "highway" that leads to heaven, and teach us to contemplate Him with Mary, in the mysteries of the Holy Rosary.

Explain to us, Carlo, that, beyond every fashion, only Jesus, by uniting ourselves to Him, makes us "originals and not photocopies," truly free. Grant us know how to meet Him in every creature, but especially in the poor, so that humanity may be more just and fraternal, rich in beauty and hope, to the glory of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

CANONIZATION OF BLESSED CARLO ACUTIS
& BLESSED PIER GIORGIO FRASSATI

Pier Giorgio Frassati's canonization has been moved to September 7, and he will be canonized together with Carlo Acutis, as announced by Pope Leo XIV on June 13. Originally, Carlo's sainthood was set for April and Frassati's for August, but delays caused by Pope Francis’ death moved both to September. Carlo Acutis, a 15-year-old known as “God’s geek,” was famous for creating a website about Eucharistic miracles and was beatified in 2020. Pier Giorgio Frassati, who died at 24 from polio, was known for his love of mountain climbing and helping the poor. They will be joined by seven other saints on October 19. Their sainthood shows that people today can be holy in many ways—through technology, helping others, or living with joy—and reminds us that becoming a saint is a call for everyone today.
