๐Ÿ’™ A LOOK BACK AT LAST SUNDAY

Another Sunday, another reminder that Godโ€™s work must go on.

Through the preaching from Nehemiah, we were reminded that even when the work gets tiring, difficult, or discouraging, we keep goingโ€”not because we are strong, but because God is faithful.

And through our songs, we were reminded of the Gospel we have the privilege to proclaim: Christ came, He died for our sins, He rose again, and His work continues through His people.

As we come together for Prayer Meeting tonight, may we carry that same reminder in our hearts: keep serving, keep trusting, and keep pressing on.

By His grace, may we be found faithful. ๐Ÿ’™

โ€œYou always were
You always are
You'll always be
Everlasting God, Holy, full of Glory
Everlasting God, Faithful, You are Ableโ€

This song draws our hearts to the unchanging nature of God โ€” the One who stands sovereign over every moment in history and every detail of our lives. From before the world began to every trial we face today, He remains the same: holy, faithful, and able ๐Ÿ’™

While everything around us shifts โ€” seasons, circumstances, even people โ€” God does not. In our joy and in our tears, in our weakness and in our fears, He is still God. And because He is unchanging, our confidence is sure.

So we dwell in His presence, rest in His love, and trust in His power โ€” not because we are strong, but because He is enough!

โ€œIt is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.โ€ โ€” Lamentations 3:22โ€“23 ๐Ÿ’™

A humbling reminder that everything we receive from God is not because we deserve it โ€” but because He is merciful.

Through the preaching, we were brought to see that even David, in his lowest place, did not plead his worth, his works, or his right to be delivered โ€” he pleaded for mercy. He knew that in himself, he had no claim before God. And that is true for us as well. Left to ourselves, we deserve nothing but judgment, yet God, in His compassion, withholds what we deserve and graciously gives what we never could earn.

How often we come to God asking, expecting, even questioning โ€” as if we are owed something. Yet the truth is, every blessing, every deliverance, even salvation itself, flows not from our merit, but from His mercy alone.

His mercies are unending. They do not run dry, they do not grow weary โ€” they are new every morning. And that is our hope: not who we are, but who He is.

May we never lose sight of this โ€” that we are completely undeserving, yet continually sustained by the faithful, unchanging mercy of God!
