Apostleship of Prayer - Minor Basilica and Parish of La Purisima Concepcion

Apostleship of Prayer - Minor Basilica and Parish of La Purisima Concepcion Opisyal na Pahina ng Apostolado ng Panalangin sa Basilica Menor at Parokya ng La Purisima Concepion The Apostleship of Prayer (AP) was founded by Rev. Fr. Amen.

Francis X. Gautrelet, SJ in 1844 at Vals, France. Its first members were a group of Jesuit seminarians whom he encouraged to “Offer everything you are doing each day in union with the Heart of our Lord for what He wishes, the spread of the Kingdom for the salvation of souls.” The association since then extended its influence worldwide and now has established centers all over the world. The AP is a

n association of the faithful under the Pope in which they do activities like reciting the daily morning offering, propagation of the first Friday devotion, promote the Holy Hour devotion, consecrate the families to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, and continous praying for the mission and general intentions of the Holy Father for each month. By 2014, Pope Francis approves the process of recreating the Apostleship of Prayer as Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network (PWPN). The AP-PWPN of Minor Basilica and Parish of La Purísima Concepción was founded on October 30, 1902 under the 22nd Parish Priest named Rev. Cirilo Abela who had a longest term of 33 years in the history of the town of Santa Maria from August 10, 1901 to July 28, 1935. And yesterday, we celebrate the 120th anniversary of the association. May the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament be blessed, adored, and loved with grateful affection at every moment in all the Tabernacles of the world even to the end of time. Offering Prayer
Good Father, I know you are with me. Here I am on this new day. Place my heart once more with the Heart of your Son Jesus, who gives himself for me and who comes to me in the Eucharist. May your Holy Spirit make me his friend and apostle, available for his mission of compassion. I place in your hands my prayers, joys and hopes, my works and sufferings, everything that I am and have, in communion with my brothers and sisters of this Worldwide Prayer Network - Apostleship of Prayer. With Mary and Joseph, I offer you my day for the mission of the Church and for the prayer intentions of the Pope and my Bishop for this month of January: For prayer with the Word of God. Let us pray that praying with the Word of God be nourishment for our lives and a source of hope in our communities, helping us to build a more fraternal and missionary Church. Amen.

With Jesus in the morning
With You, Mary
A new dawn, a dawn of peace… With Mary, open your heart to this day that offers you a new year of grace and life. “Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart” (Lk 2:19). Today, as the Church celebrates the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, remain silent like Mary: “That silent smallness is the language of her royalty,” said Pope Francis, allowing “Jesus to speak to our hearts.” “To reserve a moment of silence with God each day is to guard the soul; it is to guard freedom…” With Mary, let Jesus speak to your heart and offer Him your life and the intentions that dwell within it by praying the daily offering prayer. Amen.

Monthly Prayer For prayer with the Word of God
Lord Jesus, living Word of the Father, in You we find the light that guides our steps. We know that the human heart lives restless, hungry for meaning, and only your Gospel can give it peace and fullness. Teach us to listen to you each day in the Scriptures, to let ourselves be challenged by your voice, and to discern our decisions from the closeness to your Heart. May your Word be nourishment in weariness, hope in darkness, and strength in our communities. Lord, may your Word never be absent from our lips or from our hearts— the Word that makes us sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, disciples and missionaries of your Kingdom. Make us a Church that prays with the Word, that is built upon it and shares it with joy, so that in every person the hope of a new world may be born again. May our faith grow in the encounter with you through your Word, moving us from the heart to reach out to others, to serve the most vulnerable, to forgive, build bridges, and proclaim life. Amen.

With Jesus in the Afternoon
The Word of God
Pause in your day and pray in your heart for this month’s prayer intention: that prayer with the Word of God may be nourishment in your life and a source of hope in your community, helping to build a more fraternal and missionary Church. Ask yourself: how much time do you spend praying with the Word each day? Let this question accompany you for the rest of the day. Pray the monthly prayer. Amen.

With Jesus in the evening
I Let Myself Be Seen
At the end of the day, find a quiet place and become still. Quiet your heart. Take one or two deep breaths and bring to mind the things you experienced today. Let the Lord look upon your day. Ask yourself: what events gave you peace and joy? Through whom did you feel loved, appreciated, or valued? Remain with these moments for a few minutes, savoring and feeling them. Let the Lord look at the moments when you lost your peace today, and allow yourself to be reconciled with them. Prepare to begin a new day under the Lord’s guidance. Amen.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Have mercy on us!
Immaculate Heart of Mary, Pray for us!
Faithful Heart of Joseph, Pray for us!
Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque, Pray for us!
Saint Claude la Colombière, Pray for us!
Saint Francis Xavier, Pray for us!
Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face, Pray for us!

Offering Prayer
Good Father, I know you are with me.
Here I am on this new day.
Place my heart once more
next to the Heart of your Son Jesus,
who is giving himself for me and who
comes to me in the Eucharist.
May your Holy Spirit make me his friend
and apostle,
available for his mission of compassion.
I place in your hands my joys and hopes,
my works and sufferings, everything
that I am and have,
in communion with my brothers and
sisters of this Worldwide Prayer
Network.
With Mary, I offer you my day for the
mission of the Church
and for the prayer intentions of the Pope
and my Bishop for this month of December: For people with disabilities. Let us pray that people with disabilities may be at the centre of attention in society, and that institutions may offer inclusion programmes that value their active participation.
Amen.

With Jesus in the morning
The Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and
Joseph
"My eyes have seen your salvation"
(Lk 2:22-40) - thus sings Simeon
before the Holy Family. Give me the
grace to remember this year that is
now ending under your light. May I
have the voice to sing your praise. I
ask your forgiveness for the times I
have failed to love. In the presence of
the Holy Family of Nazareth, I offer the
works of this day for people with
disabilities, so that they may be the
center of society's attention. Our
Father.
Amen.

Monthly prayer For people with disabilities
God, our Father.
The throwaway culture that is
widespread in our time
does not consider the person as
something most valueable
that must be respected and
protected, especially if they are poor
or disabled people
We ask you today for the inclusion of
all those
who have a physical or mental
limitation.
Help us promote a culture of life
that continually affirms the dignity of
each person
in particular the defense of people
with disabilities.
May inclusion be the rock on which
civil institutions
build programs and initiatives so that
no one is left behind.
Amen.

With Jesus in the Afternoon
Closing the year
Look for a quiet place. Take
advantage of this time to open your
heart to the year ahead. "Dear
brothers and sisters, I believe that
the recovery of goodness as a virtue
can greatly help to improve life in
families, communities and cities. As
we face the New Year, I would like to
wish us all to grow in this virtue:
kindness. Experience teaches that, if
it becomes a way of life, it can create
a healthy coexistence, it can
humanize social relations, dissolving
aggressiveness and indifference"
(Pope Francis). (Team Portugal)
Amen.

With Jesus at night
Ending the month
Close this month in prayer. Consider
all you have experienced, the
situations, the encounters. Think about
what gave you a balance of life, of
peace, and be grateful for it. How did
you respond to God's love? Did you
take into account the prayer intention
of the month in your daily life? Ask
forgiveness for what was not in tune
with the compassionate Heart of
Christ, and tomorrow begin a new
month in readiness for the mission
that Jesus will entrust to you. Hail
Mary (Team Argentina)
Amen.

Reread
Begin your day by remembering the
year that has passed and give thanks
for so many graces that have been
given to you. "The child grew and
became strong, full of wisdom, and
the grace of God was with him" (Lk
2:40). Today, try to identify your fears
and weaknesses and ask God to
enlighten you and fill you with His
grace, so that you can enter into the
new year with enthusiasm. Offer your
day for the Pope's intentions for this
month. Our Father (Team Portugal)
Amen.

Brothers and Sisters
Take some time to rest and meditate
with this reflection of Pope Francis.
"The Gospel teaches us this
conversion. We need to develop
antibodies against a culture that
considers some lives 'series a' and
others 'series b' based on physical or
mental abilites: this is a social sin!
We must have the courage to give
voice to those who are discriminated
against because of their disabled
condition, because unfortunately in
certain nations even today it is
difficult to recognize them as persons
of equal dignity, as brothers and
sisters in humanity." (Team Portugal)
Amen.

With Jesus at night
Renewal
Take advantage of the fact that the
day quieting down to go inside
yourself and be grateful for the
blessings received today. How did you
experience the encounters in your
family, at work, in the community, in
the neighborhood? Through what lens
do you see others? Do you need to
renew your gaze? Only Christ can give
you new eyes. Ask for his help to see
the positive in others and the potential
they have to develop. Tomorrow, help
those who do not dare to participate
more. Hail Mary. (Team Argentina)

Look
Thank you, Lord, for waking me up
today and contemplating life and all
that it contains! "For my eyes have
seen your salvation" (Lk 2:30). Lord,I
want to learn to contemplate your
grace, from the little things to the
extraordinary actions you perform in
my life and in the lives of my
brothers and sisters. Even when
adversity arises, may I have a heart

Feast of the Holy Innocents
Thank you, Lord for the people who
work with children, especially with the
most disadvantaged. "Herod goes in
search of the Child to kill him" (Mt

and injustice in the world. Open your

pain of the world enter into your
heart. "In order to follow in the
footsteps of Jesus, we must shed the
burdens that entangle and block us.
And what are those burdens? They
are the same negative passions that
prevented King Herod and his court
from recognizing and welcoming the
birth of Jesus: attachment to power

The newness of the Spirit
Collect the day. Bring to your heart
what you have experienced and be

people that have given you a new
perspective, a different way of

news of God did they bring to you?

have much to give. Pray that the
newness of the Spirit will lead us to
make this goal a reality. Hail Mary.

Evangelist
On this new day, I place my life in

the Lord out of the tomb, and we
don't know where they have put

your lifr do you go through a period

faith in the reunion was stronger and
suddenly everything made sense.

Overcoming barriers
On this day of St. John the

role of the community in his prayer

communities should strive to foster
in the faithful a welcoming attitude
towards persons with disabilities.
The creation of a fully accessible
parish requires not only the removal
of architectural barriers, but above
all attitudes and actions of solidarity
and service on the part of parish
members towards persons with
disabilities and their families. The
goal is to overcome the "them", so
that there is only the "us"." (Team

excluded from your heart? Use this
moment to reflect, and to ask for
forgiveness if necessary. Reflect on a
